Unofficial crDroid 12 (Android 16) for the Motorola Edge 50 Neo XT2409-1 (vienna, MT6878). Fastboot package, tested on one XT2409-1 RETEU.

Caution

Vibe coded: this port was built almost entirely by AI coding assistants (ChatGPT, then Claude), directed and tested by the owner on a single phone. Nothing here has been reviewed by an experienced Android/MediaTek developer. Expect mistakes and only flash it if you can restore stock firmware yourself.

Warning

Use at your own risk. Unlocking and flashing can void your warranty, erase your data and leave the phone unbootable. Provided "as is", without warranty (Apache License 2.0, sections 7 and 8). Not affiliated with Motorola, MediaTek or the crDroid team.

Requirements

  • XT2409-1 with an unlocked bootloader
  • The active slot runs stock firmware W1UIS36H.39-25-8 (crDroid reuses its boot, init_boot, dtbo and vendor images; other versions will not boot)
  • Android platform-tools (fastboot), a backup, and the stock firmware for your model

Install

Unzip, boot the phone to the bootloader (Power + Volume Down), then run ./flash.sh --wipe (Linux/macOS) or flash.bat --wipe (Windows). Use --wipe when coming from stock or another ROM. See README.txt in the zip.

flash.sh is tested; flash.bat follows the same steps but is untested and does not verify checksums.

Works

Dual-SIM LTE, VoLTE and voice calls (tested with Yettel HU and Telekom HU), video calls, NFC, camera, GPS, under-display fingerprint, face unlock, Bluetooth incl. audio, microG (GmsCore + Companion), Lineage recovery (in vendor_boot).

Known issues / not tested

  • Bluetooth A2DP hardware offload is disabled (software encoding).
  • Battery life is comparable to stock.
  • Wi-Fi calling not tested yet.
  • No sideloadable OTA zip yet; updates are installed with this script (without --wipe).
