OpenAirCast v0.1.0
First public portable release for Windows x64.
Download and run
Download OpenAirCast-v0.1.0-windows-x64.zip from Assets, extract the complete
folder and run OpenAirCast.exe. Rust and Git are not required. Quit an older
copy through its tray menu before starting the new version. Settings remain in
%APPDATA%\OpenAirCast.
This is an unsigned portable application, not an MSI installer or a signed
stability certification. The release is published with the known issue below.
Included
- Windows audio streaming to one or several AirPlay 2 speakers.
- Master volume, separate speaker levels and saved groups.
- Playback-device selection, tray operation and global shortcut.
- German/English interface with light, dark and system themes.
- Generated listening-test tone and copyable live diagnostics.
- Clearer application/library source layout and split internal modules.
Known bug — Suspend/Cancel
Suspending Windows while connecting and cancelling shortly after wake can
leave the application at Stopping. Quit through the tray and restart
OpenAirCast. This issue is known and is not fixed in this release.
Only the Normal latency profile is available. A hearing check does not
unlock Low/Stable. Diagnostics describe local capture, buffering and sending;
they do not prove remote reception or measure acoustic synchronization.
Changing the active speaker group restarts it.
Long-duration stability, clean Windows installation, the full native
DPI/accessibility matrix, network interruptions and sleep/wake recovery are not
fully validated. No auto-updater, installer or launch-at-login feature is included.
Verification and source
The reviewed source was merged and tested again: 2,162 passed, 0 failed,
17 ignored. The focused embedded-asset test and optimized Windows x64 build
passed; the packaged EXE matches the compiler output by SHA-256. Existing compiler/lint
warnings remain. No application or speaker playback was started during this
refactoring/release verification; earlier three-speaker, individual-level and
test-tone confirmations came from the owner during development.

SHA256SUMS.txt contains checksums for both release archives.
