te-cli skill 0.4.0

Aligns the skill with Tabular Editor CLI 0.7.0. The CLI removed six commands, changed the property and model-source syntax on every command, and made te deploy and te refresh dry runs by default; every file in the skill was re-verified against the 0.7.0 release and the current docs. The Tabular Editor CLI is in Limited Public Preview; no license is required during preview. The preview build stops functioning after 2026-10-31.

Highlights

  • Properties are -p Name=Value everywhere; te get <path> --properties lists the names an object accepts, --unset <Name> clears one.
  • The model is always --model (or -s/-d, --local, --recent, active te connect), never a trailing path.
  • Deploy and refresh are dry runs; unattended runs pass --execute --force --non-interactive. te deploy fails when the server parks objects with errors; te script fails when a script calls Error(...).
  • te get is the single read pipeline: --where, --ls, --deps, --unused, --properties; wildcard and container paths list without --ls.
  • Removed commands mapped: te format → te set --format / te util format-dax|format-m; te migrate → te util migrate; te incremental-refresh → te get|set <table>/RefreshPolicy + te refresh --apply-refresh-policy; te load, te open, te replace dropped.
  • One JSON shape for findings (validate, bpa run, test run, query) and one for changes (mutating commands and te diff); objectPath on every object.
  • Tables from the model's own data source: te add -t Table --source-table / --query, te set <table> --update-schema, te add -t DataColumn, container-form te add paths.
  • Path grammar: { } * ? reserved and quoted, KPIs/Sets/Functions container keywords, Relationships/{guid}, every printed path pastes back.
  • Guardrails documented: --semicolons as an input dialect (only on te util format-dax), --ci value validation, validation codes TE0012-TE0014, administrator policies on Windows, interactive-shell exit guard and exit --force.
  • BPA runs exactly Tabular Editor 3's built-in rule set; VPA_* rules and --vpa-rules are gone.
