Public API harmonization
- Track the pre-alpha public API cleanup in
API-HARMONIZATION-ROADMAP.md. This release
will tighten compact-scale contracts, make platform-specific definition
boundaries type-safe, harmonize responsive, interaction, callback, focus,
color, animation, export, and transform names, strengthen view composition,
and make the public reference mechanically complete.

Compact linear domains and band ranges now require exactly two finite values.
Ordinal scales return undefined when no range value can be resolved.
Tooltip extension tokens now declare __chartExtensionType: 'tooltip' and a
__chartTooltipHost brand. DOM adapters reject exact React Native tooltip
definitions, React Native rejects exact DOM tooltip definitions, and both
retain runtime guards for deliberately widened values. StaticChartDefinition,
ResponsiveChartDefinition, and ChartDefinition accept an optional tooltip
host type parameter. Host adapters can share the environment-neutral
@tanstack/charts/tooltip/model policy.
Text measurement is now a synchronous, deterministic host contract with font
family, style, stretch, letter spacing, direction, locale, and font scale.
Browser hosts pass inherited typography and re-layout after fonts load. React
Native exposes matching typography props and applies font scale to measurement
and SVG label paint; hosts own any asynchronous font-readiness lifecycle.
View composition accepts ComposableChartDefinition, including responsive
children resolved against their allocated frames. Embedded host options,
gradients, and scene backgrounds are rejected by exact types and guarded at
runtime. createChartRuntime({ defaultTheme }) now supplies one platform theme
to both responsive builders and final scene compilation.
Documentation checks now validate syntax and public imports for all 503 typed
fences and fully compile the 18 examples presented as complete. Contextual
fragments do not receive hidden fixture declarations.
