Tasklit 1.0 — Release Notes
Overview
Tasklit 1.0 is the first stable release of a lightweight C++ REST API server for task management.
The project is built on top of Qt6 (Core, Network, SQL, HttpServer, Concurrent, Gui) and provides a modular architecture with clear separation of concerns.
Features
- REST API endpoints for managing tasks and tags
- CRUD operations for tasks (create, read, update, delete)
- Tag management (create and list)
- JSON-based communication with proper error handling
- SQLite storage with UUID-based identifiers
- Modular architecture: model, storage, service, http, utils
- Logging and structured error reporting
API Endpoints
GET /tasks— Get all tasksPOST /task/create— Create a new taskGET /task?id=<uuid>— Get task by IDPATCH /task?id=<uuid>— Update part of a taskDELETE /task?id=<uuid>— Delete task by IDDELETE /tasks— Delete all tasksGET /tags— Get all tagsPOST /tag/create— Create a new tag
Improvements since pre-release
- Migrated task identifiers from
qint64toQUuidfor better uniqueness and scalability - Introduced a consistent error handling system with unified JSON responses
- Added utility helpers for JSON and logging
- Implemented storage layer on top of SQLite
- Improved CMake configuration and project structure
Known Limitations
- Tag deletion endpoints are not yet implemented
- Authentication and authorization are not included in this release
- Concurrency optimizations are basic and will be improved in later versions
Roadmap
- Add endpoints for tag deletion (single and bulk)
- Implement authentication and user management
- Extend filtering and search capabilities for tasks
- Optimize concurrency for large-scale task operations
- Add Docker support for simplified deployment
