Pre-Season:

  • Better programmer training
    • Add to the wiki
  • More assignment of things to do, when people are here
    • Full project assignment, followups in a day or two, etc.
    • Daily standups!
  • VisualVM debugging the robot
  • Re-think control systems
    • XBOX etc. controllers?
    • Or come up with a labelling system consistent across all the robots, to define a new set of "standard keys" that are used in our team
  • Status LEDs
    • RGB makes the bot go faster I swear
  • Encoder lib to make abs encoders a breeze
    • 5818 lib
  • WHATS? THAT? DAGGER ALTERNATIVE!!!!
  • More outreach (longevity of the team)
  • Fix up our RR website
  • Test failure cases
  • Spider Eyes improvements

During Season:

  • !!! Reduce status frames every year!!!!!! (on the motors)
  • !!! Check CAN usage every year!!!!!! (it's on the DS)
  • !!! Check current limits every year!!!!!! (on the motors)
  • Drive the bot into an obstacle to check for breaker blows
  • Motion Magic is probably good

At comp:

  • Keep running system checks
  • Try reviewing the bot for shorts more often
  • Might it be a good idea to avoid putting motors, cables, etc. on deployable objects
    • Improve RELIABILITY!
