GyroidVault v2.3.0 — The Customization & SSO Release 🎨🔑

GyroidVault v2.3.0 brings personalized UI theming, native Single Sign-On (OIDC), customizable library scanning modes, and deep homelab / NAS optimizations (including spin-down support for sleeping hard drives).

🎨 1. Customizable UI & Theming Engine

  • New "User Interface" Settings Tab: Fine-tune the look and feel of your vault to match your setup.
  • 6 Hand-Crafted Themes:
    • Dark Glass (Default): Translucent glassmorphism with subtle cyan glow.
    • Slate: Neutral dark gray workspace.
    • Midnight: Deep navy dark theme.
    • Light Mode: High-contrast bright layout.
    • OLED High Contrast: Pitch-black (#000000) theme optimized for OLED displays.
    • Cyberpunk: Neon accents with high-energy dark terminal aesthetics.
  • 6 Accent Colors: Cyan, Blue, Emerald, Purple, Amber, and Rose with instant live switching.

⚙️ 2. Granular Module Toggles & Default Landing Page

  • Disable features and taxonomy tools you don't need to keep your sidebar and model cards distraction-free:
    • Organization: Toggle Categories, Collections, Tags, and Favorites.
    • Navigation: Toggle Folder Explorer (Browse), Statistics, and Format Pills.
    • Print Workflow: Toggle Print History / Materials, Public Share Links, and Moonraker Printers.
  • Configurable Landing Page: Choose whether users land on All Models (Grid/List), Folder Explorer (Browse), or Collections.

🔑 3. OpenID Connect (OIDC) Single Sign-On (SSO)

  • Native enterprise-grade SSO support for Authentik, Keycloak, Authelia, and Okta.
  • Configurable Role Claim mapping and Admin Group authorization with automatic user provisioning and customizable login button label.

📂 4. Library Scan Modes (Issue #5)

  • Folder Mode (Recommended): Groups all 3D files in a subfolder into a single unified model (ideal for multi-part prints and assemblies).
  • File Mode: Indexes each standalone 3D file as its own model with automatic companion file pairing (e.g., part.stl + part.png + part.gcode).
  • Root-Level Improvements: Files living directly in the root of your library are now indexed cleanly as standalone models rather than lumped into a generic folder.

🌙 5. Spin-Down Friendly Disk Sync (Issue #83)

  • Background library disk synchronization interval is now fully configurable via Settings → System (auto_sync_interval) or the SYNC_INTERVAL_HOURS environment variable.
  • NAS & Unraid Sleep Mode: Setting the interval to 0 completely disables periodic background disk checks, allowing mechanical hard drives to remain in low-power spin-down indefinitely without being woken every hour.

🖨️ 6. Creality Print Slicer Integration

  • 1-click slicing deep-link support (crealityprint://) directly launches models into Creality Print alongside OrcaSlicer, Bambu Studio, Elegoo Slicer, and Cura.

💬 7. Hover Tooltips on Model & Folder Cards (Issue #82)

  • Long filenames and directory titles truncated by ellipsis (...) now display their complete, untruncated name on hover via native browser tooltips.

🛡️ 8. 1-Click SQLite & Thumbnail Backup

  • Instantly download a complete .zip snapshot of your SQLite database (gyroidvault.db), user accounts, collections, tags, print history, and uploaded thumbnails from Settings → System.

Bug Fixes & Reliability

  • Fixed .3MF surface normal calculations in viewer.js using computeVertexNormals() with indexed geometry support to eliminate shading artifacts.
  • Fixed layout overflowing on model detail headers for guest users.
  • Fixed root-level file grouping in the library scanner so root files are treated as individual models.
  • Fixed background scanner timers and added dynamic reconfiguration when intervals change in Settings.

Testing & Infrastructure

  • Expanded automated pre-release test suite (tests/release-check.js) to 42 tests with 100% pass rate, covering OIDC SSO flows, scanner mode matrices, background timers, RBAC security, and UI template rendering.
