v1.0.0-beta.6 — Windows beta: wake word for AI Voice
Pre-releaseWindows-only beta: the AI Voice wake word, on top of v1.0.0-beta.4 with the beta.5 build fix (beta.5 itself was never published).
Wake word for AI Voice pages
Set Wake word: On on an AI Voice page (Settings, or the page's options in the editor) and the page only answers when you start with the persona's name: "Hey Jarvis, what time is it?" Everything else said in the room is ignored. It never appears on screen, never reaches the AI and never lands in the transcript. The status line reads Waiting for "Hey Jarvis".
- The mic opens by itself when the page loads with the wake word on. The mic button is only a mute, and a mute you tap on purpose stays muted across page switches and reloads until you tap it again. A hidden page releases the mic and goes back to waiting for the name when you return.
- Every persona wakes to "Hey" plus its name ("Hey Rocky", "Hey Mimi"). The Wake name box in Settings, AI Profiles, Personas is filled in for you; change it only when the name is awkward to say. A page can use its own phrase instead.
- Name alone ("Hey Jarvis") opens a short Listening prompt: eight seconds to start your request, and a request you begin inside that window still counts when the transcription comes back late. The bare name ("Jarvis.") works too, and a phrase said twice in a row counts once.
- One wake, one request. When the reply has finished playing the page goes back to waiting for the name, so one "Hey Jarvis" in the morning never leaves the page listening all day.
- Follow-up window (seconds, off by default): after a completed reply you can answer without the name until the on-screen countdown ends. A reply you stop early, or one that fails, does not open it.
- Chime (off by default): a short two-note chime through the page's speaker when the name is heard. Muting the speaker mutes the chime.
- Whisper's mishearings are handled. A spoken "hey" often comes back as "a", "hay", "say", "pain" and more, and a quick "Hey Norm" as "Enorm". Those all wake the page in front of the exact name, and the Dust Sprite persona carries its aliases ("Hastebrite", "haste bright").
- With the permission mode set to run commands without asking, anything said after the name is acted on; the editor warns about this.
The microphone audio still goes to your configured speech-to-text server exactly as before, and the text is checked for the name; Bedrock Panel discards what was not addressed to the persona. If your server is remote, it may keep what it hears under its own terms.
