Safety AI v1.1.0 — "Polaris"

First public release. Polaris — a guiding light for kids navigating AI.

Safety AI is a Chrome extension that helps children stay safe when using AI chatbots and search tools. It blocks or gates access to major AI sites based on parent-configured rules.

Installation (Developer Mode)

This release is not yet on the Chrome Web Store. To install manually:

  1. Download safekids-extension-v1.1.0-Polaris.zip below and unzip it
  2. Open Chrome and go to chrome://extensions/
  3. Toggle Developer mode on (top right)
  4. Click Load unpacked and select the unzipped folder
  5. The Safety AI icon should appear in your toolbar — click it to get started

Permissions

The extension requests permissions only for the AI sites listed in manifest.json. No data leaves your browser.
