CLAUDE.md Auto-Detection

agents-md and init now auto-detect Claude Code projects and write to CLAUDE.md instead of AGENTS.md.

Detection Logic

  • .claude/ directory present → creates CLAUDE.md
  • No .claude/ directory → creates AGENTS.md (backward compatible)
  • Existing file with vectl markers is never disrupted (stability over detection)

New --target Flag

Both agents-md and init accept --target {auto,agents,claude}:

  • auto (default): uses detection heuristics
  • agents: forces AGENTS.md
  • claude: forces CLAUDE.md

Guide Updates

Migration guide now mentions CLAUDE.md alongside AGENTS.md.

Tests: 658 passed (+12 new)
