X4 Pro dùng tenor-cross-v1.0.67-x4pro.bin trong cùng bản phát hành. Nạp qua cáp USB cho máy đang chạy v1.0.59 trở lên: giải nén gói mã nguồn, đứng trong thư mục đó chạy python3 tools/nap.py với tệp X4 Pro (cần pyserial và esptool), rồi xác nhận trên màn máy. / The X4 Pro uses tenor-cross-v1.0.67-x4pro.bin from the same release. Over the USB cable, for a device already on v1.0.59 or later: unpack the source package, run python3 tools/nap.py in that folder with the X4 Pro file (needs pyserial and esptool), then confirm on the device screen.

English

v1.0.67 brings fonts from the browser to the X3 and X4: the Fonts tab of File Transfer now converts a TTF or OTF file to the device format, so adding a font no longer needs the card taken out. The EPUB optimizer on the Files page gains a Keep KOReader sync option, on by default, and tenor/ugly reads in Shantell Sans when its font pack is on the card.

• X3/X4 factory firmware: tenor-cross-v1.0.67-x3-x4-factory.bin, 6,469,008 bytes, SHA-256 a7a5bf0f8223dcd523aadcb71f7ff05d0cd082328d24d6ec074aef9d347a5ff7. Use it for a fresh USB install at offset 0x0.
• X4 Classic firmware: tenor-cross-v1.0.67-x4c.bin, 6,409,136 bytes, SHA-256 d13e5104c036648ce8ac257be4ebe5fbbd97e7927729ebb9bd0679b9cb9961a6. Only for the X4 Classic (ESP32-S3). Update over the air from Settings, or install by cable. Do not install it on an X3, X4 or X4 Pro.
• X4 Pro firmware: tenor-cross-v1.0.67-x4pro.bin, 6,482,880 bytes, SHA-256 50321a779f75922085ceb61a497163bfe12de058e4227d781105c171b47305d7. Copy it to the root of the card as firmware.bin and update from the device menu, or flash it by cable with tools/nap.py on a device running v1.0.59 or later. An X4 Pro on v1.0.56 to v1.0.66 updates to this release over the air, from Settings > About & updates > Find updates. Use it on the X4 Pro only.
• The 7 font packages are unchanged from v1.0.61 and still download from the same place.
• Keep the v1.0.66 files in case you need to go back, and check the SHA-256 before flashing.
• Tested on real hardware: the X3 runs this release. With a measurement build from the same source on the X3, the Fonts tab converted a handwriting TTF that lacks Vietnamese and sent it to the device, and a book showed every accent in that font; a book optimised with Keep KOReader sync opened, its progressive JPEG showed sharp instead of blocky, and the KOReader id the device computed matched the original file's; tenor/ugly switched to Shantell Sans with its pack on the card. The X4 Classic runs this release, flashed by cable, and a measurement build from the same source opened and read a book. The X4 Pro ran a measurement build from the same source and opened and read a book.

Fonts

• X3 and X4: the Fonts tab of File Transfer now accepts a TTF or OTF file. The page converts it in the browser to the device format (.cpfont) in sizes 12, 14, 16 and 18, then sends the files to the device as 1 family. Pick 1 file per style (regular, bold, italic) of the same font; a lone bold or italic file becomes the regular style. Vietnamese letters the font lacks are drawn from the font's own marks or from a fallback font, and the page says how many. A family already on the device is not overwritten: delete it on the same page first to replace it. A font named like one in the Font Library is saved with -2 at the end of its name.
• X4 Classic and X4 Pro keep taking TTF and OTF files as they are.
• A .cpfont family without a regular style is now refused, and the reader uses the built-in font instead. Before, a family holding only bold or italic crashed the reader.
• The settings row Manage Fonts is now Get Fonts, and the screen it opens is Font Library (Settings > Reader > Get Fonts). It downloads fonts from the catalog only; fonts of your own go through the Fonts tab of File Transfer.

Web file transfer

• EPUB optimizer on the Files page: a new Keep KOReader sync option, on by default. It only shrinks JPEG and PNG images to the screen, in the same format and under the same name. Progressive JPEG images, which the device showed blurred at 1/8 resolution, and interlaced PNG images are always rewritten. Text and file names stay unchanged, and the book carries the KOReader id of the original file, so KOReader on another device holding the original keeps syncing with it.
• Untick Keep KOReader sync to get the old optimizer: it splits long images and turns GIF and WebP images into JPEG. The page then shows the old warning that this can break sync.
• The web pages stored in the firmware are smaller: comment lines in their scripts are dropped. This frees room for the features in this release.

tenor/ugly

• tenor/ugly reads in Shantell Sans when the ShantellSans font pack is on the card. Download it from the Font Library (Settings > Reader > Get Fonts) once it is listed there. The font only changes while the reader font is still the default one; a font you picked yourself stays. Leaving tenor/ugly gives the previous default font back. A pack installed later is used from the next start.

Known limits

• WebDAV from the Finder still writes NFD file names, and NFD names already on the card are not converted.
• The X4 Classic still has no Bluetooth: its app slot is too small for the Bluetooth stack.
• X4 Pro: reconnecting the remote after the device sleeps and wakes has not been tried.
• A card that locks up completely is not recovered by the automatic restart. Take the card out, put it back in, and turn the device on again.
• X4 Pro: fast typing by touch on the on-screen keyboard has not been measured for dropped touches.
• WebDAV: after a pull finishes, leave the WebDAV screen and open it again to pull more.
• X4 Pro: the WebDAV screen works with the buttons only, touch is not wired yet.
• X3: the web server can slow down or drop the connection when a desktop browser opens many connections at once, as in v1.0.66.
• A 16 MB font pack sent through the web page may only install at the next restart, which spends about 1 minute on the boot screen.

X4 Classic chạy chính bản phát hành này, nạp qua cáp, còn bản đo dựng từ cùng mã nguồn đã mở sách và đọc được. X4 Pro chạy bản đo dựng từ cùng mã nguồn và mở sách đọc được.

Font

• X3 và X4: mục Font chữ của trang Gửi file qua web nay nhận tệp TTF hoặc OTF. Trang web chuyển font ngay trong trình duyệt sang định dạng của máy (.cpfont) với các cỡ chữ 12, 14, 16, 18, rồi gửi vào máy thành 1 bộ font. Mỗi kiểu chữ (thường, đậm, nghiêng) chọn 1 tệp thuộc cùng bộ font. Nếu chỉ có 1 tệp đậm hoặc nghiêng, tệp đó được dùng làm kiểu thường. Chữ tiếng Việt mà font thiếu được dựng từ dấu có sẵn trong font hoặc từ font thay thế, và trang web báo số chữ phải dựng. Bộ font đã có trên máy không bị ghi đè: muốn thay thì xóa bộ cũ ngay trên trang đó trước. Font trùng tên với 1 font trong Kho font được lưu thêm đuôi -2.
• X4 Classic và X4 Pro vẫn nhận thẳng tệp TTF và OTF như trước.
• Tệp .cpfont thiếu kiểu thường nay bị từ chối, và trình đọc dùng font có sẵn của máy. Trước đây, bộ font chỉ có kiểu đậm hoặc nghiêng làm trình đọc bị sập.
• Dòng cài đặt Quản lý font đổi tên thành Tải thêm font, mở ra là Kho font (Cài đặt > Trình đọc > Tải thêm font). Màn này chỉ tải font từ danh sách có sẵn. Font của riêng bạn gửi qua mục Font chữ của trang Gửi file qua web.

Gửi file qua web

• Tối ưu EPUB ở trang Tệp có thêm lựa chọn Giữ đồng bộ KOReader, bật sẵn. Khi bật, công cụ chỉ thu nhỏ ảnh JPEG và PNG cho vừa màn hình, giữ nguyên định dạng và tên ảnh. Ảnh JPEG lũy tiến (progressive), loại ảnh máy từng hiện mờ ở độ phân giải 1/8, và ảnh PNG xen kẽ (interlaced) luôn được ghi lại đúng định dạng. Chữ và tên tệp giữ nguyên, sách mang mã KOReader của bản gốc, nên KOReader trên máy khác đang giữ bản gốc vẫn đồng bộ tiếp được.
• Bỏ chọn Giữ đồng bộ KOReader để dùng cách tối ưu cũ: cắt ảnh dài và đổi ảnh GIF, WebP sang JPEG. Khi đó trang web hiện lại cảnh báo cũ rằng cách này có thể làm hỏng việc đồng bộ.
• Các trang web lưu trong firmware nay nhỏ hơn vì bỏ các dòng chú thích trong mã. Dung lượng trống được dùng cho các tính năng mới của bản này.

tenor/ugly

• tenor/ugly đọc bằng font Shantell Sans khi thẻ nhớ có gói ShantellSans. Khi gói ShantellSans đã có trong danh sách, tải gói ở Kho font (Cài đặt > Trình đọc > Tải thêm font). Máy chỉ đổi font khi font đọc vẫn là font mặc định; font bạn tự chọn được giữ nguyên. Rời tenor/ugly thì máy trả lại font mặc định trước đó. Gói được cài sau sẽ được dùng từ lần khởi động kế tiếp.

Còn vướng

• WebDAV từ Finder vẫn ghi tên tệp ở dạng NFD, và các tên NFD đã có trên thẻ vẫn giữ nguyên.
• X4 Classic vẫn chưa có Bluetooth: vùng bộ nhớ dành cho ứng dụng quá nhỏ để chứa bộ Bluetooth.
• X4 Pro: chưa thử khả năng bộ lật trang kết nối lại sau khi máy thức dậy từ chế độ ngủ.
• Khi thẻ nhớ bị kẹt cứng, khởi động lại máy vẫn không khắc phục được. Rút thẻ ra, cắm lại rồi bật máy.
• X4 Pro: chưa đo xem máy có bỏ sót lần chạm khi gõ nhanh bằng bàn phím ảo trên màn hình hay không.
• WebDAV: sau khi kéo xong 1 lượt, cần thoát màn WebDAV rồi vào lại để kéo tiếp.
• X4 Pro: màn WebDAV hiện chỉ điều khiển được bằng nút bấm, chưa hỗ trợ chạm.
• X3: máy chủ web có thể chậm lại hoặc ngắt kết nối khi trình duyệt trên máy tính mở nhiều kết nối cùng lúc, giống v1.0.66.
• Gói font 16 MB gửi qua trang web có thể chỉ được cài ở lần khởi động lại kế tiếp, khi máy dừng khoảng 1 phút ở màn hình khởi động.
