X4 Classic dùng tenor-cross-v1.0.70-x4c.bin trong cùng bản phát hành. Firmware trong gói SD này chỉ dành cho X3/X4. Nạp qua cáp bằng esptool tại offset 0x10000, hoặc cập nhật qua mạng ở Cài đặt. / The X4 Classic uses tenor-cross-v1.0.70-x4c.bin from the same release. X4 Pro dùng tenor-cross-v1.0.70-x4pro.bin trong cùng bản phát hành. Nạp qua cáp USB cho máy đang chạy v1.0.59 trở lên: giải nén gói mã nguồn, đứng trong thư mục đó chạy python3 tools/nap.py với tệp X4 Pro (cần pyserial và esptool), rồi xác nhận trên màn máy. / The X4 Pro uses tenor-cross-v1.0.70-x4pro.bin from the same release. Over the USB cable, for a device already on v1.0.59 or later: unpack the source package, run python3 tools/nap.py in that folder with the X4 Pro file (needs pyserial and esptool), then confirm on the device screen.

English

v1.0.70 adds a 31-family font store with multi-select downloads. It rebuilds 30 families with 9 weight levels, keeps Atkinson Hyperlegible Next unchanged, updates the Fonts page, fixes font packages copied from cards or sent from the web, and leaves the chapter cache at 58.

Before you update

• X3/X4 firmware: tenor-cross-v1.0.70-x3-x4.bin, 5,499,520 bytes, SHA-256 ab37d8cd7e17767c9810be992322785393ecbbfeda429765ec4538005779e927. Use the SD card or USB at offset 0x10000.
• X3/X4 factory firmware: tenor-cross-v1.0.70-x3-x4-factory.bin, 5,565,056 bytes, SHA-256 44d781fc119bb9b8e72e5af4d5d063cf01cae193cae25c1f94a78929ef900594. Use it for a fresh USB install at offset 0x0.
• X4 Classic firmware: tenor-cross-v1.0.70-x4c.bin, 5,734,192 bytes, SHA-256 733727412a83703974c824ed84059b6517e2aed93a54fe83fafca1e4933399ee. Only for the X4 Classic (ESP32-S3). Update over the air from Settings, or install by cable. Do not install it on an X3, X4 or X4 Pro.
• X4 Pro firmware: tenor-cross-v1.0.70-x4pro.bin, 5,785,024 bytes, SHA-256 bef16d9ebc435ff1760f7cfe71314d04f8d04e814a15205826689cb2e2e7b432. Copy it to the root of the card as firmware.bin and update from the device menu, or flash it by cable with tools/nap.py on a device running v1.0.59 or later. An X4 Pro on v1.0.56 to v1.0.69 updates to this release over the air, from Settings > About & updates > Find updates. Use it on the X4 Pro only.
• The font store has 31 families. It includes 23 new families, 30 families rebuilt with 9 weight levels from -3 to +5, and Atkinson Hyperlegible Next kept as it was. The 30 rebuilt families have SIL OFL 1.1 licensing, Vietnamese characters and 4 styles. Packages are 10 to 54 MB.
• Keep the v1.0.69 files in case you need to go back, and check the SHA-256 before flashing.
• X3 was tested on a real device. It selected and installed Mali from Connections > Get Fonts, with more than 11 KB above the safe memory threshold before opening Connections.
• The chapter cache stays at 58. Books do not need to be rebuilt.

Fonts

• Each family without a local copy has a switch and package size. Turn on the families you want, then use “Download selected families (number of families, MB)”. The old “Download all” row is gone.
• Get Fonts is in Connections. The last row, “Add your font”, points to Connections > Join a Network and the Fonts page on a computer.
• The store marks a family as Installed when a user added family has the same name. It never overwrites that family.
• The Fonts page keeps the original family name when it converts TTF to an X3 font. Font packages copied to a card or sent from the web are accepted as the current version.
• 7 older families have rebuilt packages and show Update: Be Vietnam Pro, Geist, Literata, Livvic, Noto Sans, Noto Serif and Shantell Sans. Atkinson Hyperlegible Next downloaded from the store does not show Update. A package installed from a card before v1.0.70 may show Update once.
• The SD package and fonts.zip keep the 7 older families. 6 of them use rebuilt packages and Atkinson Hyperlegible Next keeps its old package. Devices installed from the SD package do not show Update for those 6 families.
• Devices on v1.0.69 or earlier still read the old 8-family list. The new packages require v1.0.69 or later and the new store is for v1.0.70.

Known limits

• Petrona, Inclusive Sans, Shantell Sans, Newsreader and some other families have tall accents that can touch the line above at the tightest line spacing. Increase line spacing when this happens.
• X3 downloads at about 46 KB/s, so a 10 MB family takes about 4 minutes.
• Atkinson Hyperlegible Next lacks many Vietnamese characters and remains in the store.
• Replacing a .cpfont family with TTF removes the old family before sending the new one.
• With smoothing off, some neighboring weight levels differ by only about 4.4 to 4.9% black pixels. An X3 with its own saved Settings order keeps that order instead of the X4 Pro layout.

Font

• Mỗi họ chưa có trên máy có công tắc và dung lượng gói. Bật các họ cần dùng rồi chọn “Tải họ đã chọn (số họ, MB)”. Hàng “Tải tất cả” đã bỏ.
• Tải thêm font nằm trong Kết nối. Hàng cuối “Thêm font của bạn” dẫn tới Kết nối > Kết nối mạng và trang Font chữ trên máy tính.
• Kho hiện “Đã cài” khi họ bạn tự thêm trùng tên với họ trong kho. Kho giữ nguyên họ đó.
• Trang Font chữ giữ đúng tên họ khi đổi TTF thành font X3. Gói font chép vào thẻ hoặc gửi từ trang web được máy nhận là bản mới.
• 7 họ cũ có gói dựng lại và sẽ báo Cập nhật: Be Vietnam Pro, Geist, Literata, Livvic, Noto Sans, Noto Serif và Shantell Sans. Atkinson Hyperlegible Next tải từ kho không báo Cập nhật. Gói nào đã cài từ thẻ trước v1.0.70 có thể báo Cập nhật 1 lần.
• Gói SD và fonts.zip giữ 7 họ cũ. 6 họ dùng gói dựng lại, Atkinson Hyperlegible Next giữ gói cũ. Máy cài bằng gói SD không báo Cập nhật cho 6 họ đó.

Còn vướng

• Petrona, Inclusive Sans, Shantell Sans, Newsreader và một số họ khác có dấu chồng cao, có thể chạm dòng trên ở khoảng dòng hẹp nhất. Tăng khoảng dòng khi thấy chạm.
• X3 tải khoảng 46 KB/s, nên 1 họ 10 MB mất khoảng 4 phút.
• Atkinson Hyperlegible Next thiếu nhiều chữ tiếng Việt và vẫn ở trong kho.
• Thay họ .cpfont bằng TTF sẽ xóa họ cũ trước khi gửi họ mới.
• Khi tắt làm mịn, vài cặp mức độ đậm kề nhau chỉ khác khoảng 4,4 tới 4,9% điểm đen. Máy X3 đã tự xếp thứ tự Cài đặt riêng sẽ giữ thứ tự đó thay vì bố cục X4 Pro.
