Gói SD / SD package: tenor-cross-v1.0.71-sd-card.zip. Chép firmware.bin và thư mục fonts vào gốc thẻ, cập nhật từ menu máy rồi khởi động lại. X4 Classic dùng tenor-cross-v1.0.71-x4c.bin trong cùng bản phát hành. Firmware trong gói SD này chỉ dành cho X3/X4. X4 Pro dùng tenor-cross-v1.0.71-x4pro.bin trong cùng bản phát hành. Nạp qua cáp USB cho máy đang chạy v1.0.59 trở lên: giải nén gói mã nguồn, đứng trong thư mục đó chạy python3 tools/nap.py với tệp X4 Pro (cần pyserial và esptool), rồi xác nhận trên màn máy. / The X4 Pro uses tenor-cross-v1.0.71-x4pro.bin from the same release. Over the USB cable, for a device already on v1.0.59 or later: unpack the source package, run python3 tools/nap.py in that folder with the X4 Pro file (needs pyserial and esptool), then confirm on the device screen.

English

v1.0.71 reworks the Download fonts screen in Connections, removes Atkinson Hyperlegible Next from the font store, rebuilds Brygada1918, takes line spacing from the font package and makes the weight setting follow the levels a font has. The chapter cache stays at 58.

Before you update

  • X3/X4 firmware: tenor-cross-v1.0.71-x3-x4.bin, 5,517,184 bytes, SHA-256 56d30e424bf0190dd7b931dfd3a4e34224b73d52547152158b4e27929d9abeb8. Use the SD card or USB at offset 0x10000.
  • X3/X4 factory firmware: tenor-cross-v1.0.71-x3-x4-factory.bin, 5,582,720 bytes, SHA-256 0619e6e52b60b53ca8181e9c611c02961b774ae0a1c0538cbc94e718d840a79f. Use it for a fresh USB install at offset 0x0.
  • X4 Classic firmware: tenor-cross-v1.0.71-x4c.bin, 5,750,800 bytes, SHA-256 82bb9a79146aad8637aeae2697c825166845d6c9e8647db5045f909d02b28638. Only for the X4 Classic (ESP32-S3). Update over the air from Settings, or install by cable. Do not install it on an X3, X4 or X4 Pro.
  • X4 Pro firmware: tenor-cross-v1.0.71-x4pro.bin, 5,794,864 bytes, SHA-256 63e55abb8b90c764be4dac0a1c3610e73c4d4ed2d31da054dd470dd9e78a0eaa. Copy it to the root of the card as firmware.bin and update from the device menu, or flash it by cable with tools/nap.py on a device running v1.0.59 or later. An X4 Pro on v1.0.56 to v1.0.70 updates to this release over the air, from Settings > About & updates > Find updates. Use it on the X4 Pro only.
  • The font store has 30 fonts, in packages of 10 to 54 MB. Every package has 9 weight levels from -3 to +5, 4 styles and its own OFL.txt. 29 packages are the same files as in v1.0.70. Brygada1918 is rebuilt, and Atkinson Hyperlegible Next is removed.
  • Keep the v1.0.70 files in case you need to go back, and check the SHA-256 before flashing.
  • The chapter cache stays at 58. The first time you open a book in a store font, its pages are laid out again with the new line spacing.

Fonts

  • Connections > Download fonts opens without the network. It lists the fonts installed on the card, each as Installed or Update. Select a font to update or delete it.

  • Add new fonts lists only fonts that are not installed. Tick the fonts you want with the round check marks, then use "Download N fonts (size)". Until a font is ticked, the top row reads "Select fonts to download".

  • A font installed from a font package starts from the line factor stored in the package. Fonts you add from TTF or .cpfont files keep the earlier line spacing.

  • The weight setting follows the level the font really has, so the setting and the screen agree. A font made with fewer levels can only be used at those levels. The Fonts page on a computer now builds levels 0 and +1 to +5 by default (before, 0 to +3) and shows a note about this.

  • Brygada1918 is the only store package that changed since v1.0.70. Its capital Đ keeps its crossbar at the thinnest weight level.

  • Atkinson Hyperlegible Next is no longer in the store, fonts.zip or the SD package. fonts.zip and the SD package carry 6 fonts: Be Vietnam Pro, Geist, Literata, Livvic, Noto Sans and Noto Serif, the same files as in v1.0.70.

  • The word "family" is replaced by "font" on screen and on the Fonts page.

  • Progress bars share one rounded shape on every screen. A dimmed row, such as an installed font, keeps its cursor.

  • Devices on v1.0.70 keep reading the v1.0.70 store. The v1.0.71 store is read by v1.0.71.

  • The Download fonts screen shows catalog names with spaces, such as "Be Vietnam Pro", lists fonts needing updates first, and sorts the rest from A to Z. The current reading font is labeled "In use for reading".

  • After downloading or updating fonts, pressing Back restarts the device and returns directly to Download fonts. Previously, it returned to Connections.

  • On devices with physical buttons, Cancel comes first in the font deletion dialog. The dialog warns that deleting the current reading font will restart the device, and that user-added fonts cannot be downloaded again.

  • In rows with 2 lines of text, the font selection circle, right-side status such as "Installed" or "Update", and > arrow are vertically centered across the full row.

  • Downloads show 1 progress bar for a single font; for multiple fonts, X3 shows 1 overall bar and X4 Pro shows 2 bars. The 100% bar is hidden during installation; touchscreen devices have Cancel while downloading and Retry on error.

  • Select "Add your own font" to see instructions for sending fonts from a computer.

  • In a book, "Text settings" in the toolbar menu opens the Text panel directly, even on first use, with changes reflected on the page behind it. Previously, first use opened a separate Text settings screen.

  • The Weight list in the Text panel only shows weights available in the current font.

Known limits

  • X3 downloads at about 46 KB/s, so a 10 MB font takes about 4 minutes.
  • Replacing a .cpfont font with TTF removes the old font before sending the new one.
  • With smoothing off, some neighboring weight levels differ by only about 4.4 to 4.9% black pixels.

Font

  • Kết nối > Tải font mở không cần mạng. Màn này liệt kê font đã cài trên thẻ, mỗi font là Đã cài hoặc Cập nhật. Chọn một font để cập nhật hoặc xóa.
  • Thêm font mới chỉ liệt kê font chưa cài. Chọn font bằng ô tròn rồi bấm "Tải N font (dung lượng)". Khi chưa chọn font nào, hàng đầu ghi "Chọn font để tải".
  • Font cài từ gói font lấy khoảng dòng gốc từ hệ số ghi trong gói. Font bạn tự thêm từ tệp TTF hoặc .cpfont giữ khoảng dòng như trước.
  • Mức độ đậm trong Cài đặt đi theo mức font thật sự có, nên cài đặt và màn hình khớp nhau. Font tạo ít mức hơn chỉ dùng được các mức đó. Trang Font chữ trên máy tính nay tạo sẵn mức 0 và +1 tới +5 (trước là 0 tới +3) và có dòng ghi chú về việc này.
  • Brygada1918 là gói duy nhất của kho đổi so với v1.0.70. Chữ Đ của gói giữ nét ngang ở mức độ đậm mảnh nhất.
  • Atkinson Hyperlegible Next không còn trong kho, fonts.zip và gói SD. fonts.zip và gói SD có 6 font: Be Vietnam Pro, Geist, Literata, Livvic, Noto Sans và Noto Serif, các tệp y hệt của v1.0.70.
  • Chữ "họ" trên màn hình và trang Font chữ đổi thành "font".
  • Thanh tiến trình dùng một hình bo tròn ở mọi màn. Dòng bị làm mờ, như font đã cài, vẫn hiện con trỏ.
  • Máy v1.0.70 vẫn đọc kho v1.0.70. Kho v1.0.71 dành cho máy v1.0.71.
  • Màn Tải font hiển thị tên font trong kho có dấu cách như "Be Vietnam Pro", đưa font cần cập nhật lên đầu và xếp phần còn lại từ A tới Z. Font đang dùng có nhãn "Đang dùng để đọc".
  • Sau khi tải hoặc cập nhật font, bấm Lùi sẽ khởi động lại máy và trở về thẳng màn Tải font. Trước đây, máy trở về màn Kết nối.
  • Hộp xác nhận xóa font trên máy dùng nút bấm đặt Hủy trước. Khi xóa font đang dùng, hộp báo máy sẽ khởi động lại; với font tự thêm, hộp báo font không thể tải lại.
  • Ở các dòng có 2 tầng chữ, ô tròn chọn font, trạng thái bên phải như "Đã cài", "Cập nhật" và dấu > được căn giữa theo chiều cao toàn dòng.
  • Khi tải 1 font, màn hình có 1 thanh tiến độ; khi tải nhiều font, X3 có 1 thanh tổng và X4 Pro có 2 thanh. Thanh 100% được ẩn ở bước "Đang cài…"; máy cảm ứng có nút Hủy khi tải và Thử lại khi lỗi.
  • Bấm "Thêm font của bạn" để xem hướng dẫn gửi font từ máy tính.
  • Trong sách, mục "Cài đặt văn bản" trên menu thanh mở thẳng bảng Văn bản ngay từ lần đầu, trang sách phía sau đổi theo cài đặt. Trước đây, lần đầu mở màn Cài đặt văn bản riêng.
  • Danh sách Độ đậm trong bảng Văn bản chỉ hiển thị các mức mà font đang dùng có sẵn.

Còn vướng

  • X3 tải khoảng 46 KB/s, nên 1 font 10 MB mất khoảng 4 phút.
  • Thay font .cpfont bằng TTF sẽ xóa font cũ trước khi gửi font mới.
  • Khi tắt làm mịn, vài cặp mức độ đậm kề nhau chỉ khác khoảng 4,4 tới 4,9% điểm đen.
