X4 Classic dùng tenor-cross-v1.0.74-x4c.bin trong cùng bản phát hành. Firmware trong gói SD này chỉ dành cho X3/X4. Nạp qua cáp bằng esptool tại offset 0x10000, hoặc cập nhật qua mạng ở Cài đặt. / The X4 Classic uses tenor-cross-v1.0.74-x4c.bin from the same release. The SD firmware in this package is for X3/X4 only. Flash it by cable with esptool at offset 0x10000, or update over the air from Settings.

X4 Pro dùng tenor-cross-v1.0.74-x4pro.bin trong cùng bản phát hành. Nạp qua cáp USB cho máy đang chạy v1.0.59 trở lên: giải nén gói mã nguồn, đứng trong thư mục đó chạy python3 tools/nap.py với tệp X4 Pro (cần pyserial và esptool), rồi xác nhận trên màn máy. / The X4 Pro uses tenor-cross-v1.0.74-x4pro.bin from the same release. Over the USB cable, for a device already on v1.0.59 or later: unpack the source package, run python3 tools/nap.py in that folder with the X4 Pro file (needs pyserial and esptool), then confirm on the device screen.

English

v1.0.74 fixes On wake in v1.0.72, which sent several screens back to the home screen. With Previous location, the device now also reopens Connections, the Download fonts list, the Connections list on the row you were on, a Settings row that opens its own screen, an image you were viewing and the book after a KOReader sync. Download fonts now shows every installed font's name in its own letters. The font store is unchanged. The chapter cache version remains 58.

This release also has 3 more fixes. On the X4 Pro, the reader menu stays on the screen after the scrollbar hides. On the X3, Bluetooth starts again from Settings. The automatic time zone stops falling back to UTC when ipapi.co refuses to answer.

Before you update

• X3/X4 firmware: tenor-cross-v1.0.74-x3-x4.bin, 5,575,184 bytes, SHA-256 e9cdaa588ddad46714c773b38418526eda16ec3bee5c2b7bfbc4e567bed07cb3. Use the SD card or USB at offset 0x10000.
• X3/X4 factory firmware: tenor-cross-v1.0.74-x3-x4-factory.bin, 5,640,720 bytes, SHA-256 9a4ec7827875963688e55c06be207ce6691015036679ee3f2356177e76a37e3c. Use it for a fresh USB install at offset 0x0.
• X4 Classic firmware: tenor-cross-v1.0.74-x4c.bin, 5,814,352 bytes, SHA-256 92e0415d9a3542f95563e0cf3a90447f7f2fb6370ae774ce1f9603dba60c2b39. Only for the X4 Classic (ESP32-S3). Update over the air from Settings, or install by cable. Do not install it on an X3, X4 or X4 Pro.
• X4 Pro firmware: tenor-cross-v1.0.74-x4pro.bin, 5,854,752 bytes, SHA-256 aced9025169d369fc2ec4a81d5156851047a936b5a0109ccc9888f9fcc59bbd6. Copy it to the root of the card as firmware.bin and update from the device menu, or flash it by cable with tools/nap.py on a device running v1.0.59 or later. An X4 Pro on v1.0.56 to v1.0.72 updates to this release over the air, from Settings > About & updates > Find updates. Use it on the X4 Pro only.
• The font store is unchanged: 30 fonts in the same 30 packages as v1.0.72, at the same address (v1.0.72/fonts). Devices on v1.0.72 and v1.0.74 use the same store, and nothing is downloaded again.
• Keep the v1.0.72 files in case you need to go back, and check the SHA-256 before flashing.
• The chapter cache version remains 58.
• Updating from v1.0.72 keeps the On wake choice you saved.

On wake

• In v1.0.72, Previous location sent these places to the home screen when the device woke from deep sleep. Now the device reopens Connections, the Download fonts list, the Connections list on the row you were on, a Settings row that opens its own screen, an image you were viewing and the book after a KOReader sync.
• After an image you were viewing, the device opens the folder that holds it.
• After a Settings row that opens its own screen, Settings reopens with the cursor on that row.
• The On wake choices are otherwise as in v1.0.72: Previous location, Current book or Home screen. tenor/ugly also has Root screen and Recent page.
• The web settings page now lists the same On wake choices as the device, in the order of the interface in use.

Fonts

• In Connections > Download fonts, every installed font shows its name in its own letters: store fonts and your own fonts on the card. The same applies in the tenor/ugly interface. Vector .ttf fonts on the X4 Classic and X4 Pro keep a plain-text name.
• When the font server's name cannot be found, the store now says so: "Can't find the font server. Its domain may be down; try again in a few minutes." Before, it showed a general error.
• Connections > Download fonts still opens without the network and lists the installed fonts as Installed or Update.
• fonts.zip and the SD package carry 6 fonts: Be Vietnam Pro, Geist, Literata, Livvic, Noto Sans and Noto Serif, the same files as in v1.0.72.

Reader menu

• If the reader menu cannot get enough memory to open, it stays closed and you keep reading. Before, the device could restart.
• On the X4 Pro, the reader menu disappeared from the screen about 2 s after it opened, when the scrollbar hid itself. The menu now stays on the screen. This was seen on X4 Pro units with the SSD1677 display chip (international units).

Bluetooth

• On the X3, opening Bluetooth turner from Settings no longer fails with "Bluetooth could not start". Every X3 has had this since at least v1.0.68.
• The cause was memory. Settings held about 30 KB while the Bluetooth screen was open, and the radio needs about 82 KB free to start. Settings now frees its closed tabs when the Bluetooth screen opens.

Clock

• The automatic time zone now asks Tenor's server (cross.tenor.vn/tz) first and ipapi.co after. ipapi.co answers HTTP 429 to whole mobile carriers that share one address, so those devices stayed on UTC, 7 hours off in Vietnam.
• The Tenor server answers only the time offset of the zone it places your network address in, in the same format as ipapi.co.

Known limits

• The X4 Pro has no tilt settings. Tilt navigation in the menu is available only on the X3 and X4 Classic.
• X3 downloads at about 46 KB/s, so a 10 MB font takes about 4 minutes.
• Replacing a .cpfont font with TTF removes the old font before sending the new one.
• With smoothing off, some neighboring weight levels differ by only about 4.4 to 4.9% black pixels.
• The first time each page of the installed font list opens, the X3 needs about 0.2 to 0.3 s more to draw each font's name in its own letters.
• On some domestic X3 units, the sleep screen still shows ink bleeding. This release does not fix it yet.
• On the X4 Pro, if memory is low when Wi-Fi connects (for example a time sync while a book is open), the device skips the time zone lookup. Sync again from the home screen.

Thức dậy

• Ở v1.0.72, lựa chọn Vị trí trước đó đưa các màn này về Màn chính khi máy thức dậy từ ngủ sâu. Bản này sửa lỗi đó: máy mở lại Kết nối, danh sách Tải font, danh sách Kết nối đúng hàng đang đứng, hàng trong Cài đặt mở ra một màn riêng, ảnh đang xem và sách sau khi đồng bộ KOReader.
• Với ảnh đang xem, máy mở thư mục chứa ảnh, con trỏ đứng ở ảnh đó.
• Với hàng trong Cài đặt mở ra một màn riêng (ví dụ Đồng hồ), máy mở lại Cài đặt với con trỏ đứng đúng hàng đó, không về hàng đầu của thẻ.
• Các lựa chọn Thức dậy giữ như v1.0.72: Vị trí trước đó, Sách đang đọc hoặc Màn chính. tenor/ugly có thêm Màn gốc và Trang gần đây.
• Trang cài đặt trên web nay liệt kê đúng các lựa chọn Thức dậy như trên máy, theo thứ tự của giao diện đang dùng.

Font

• Trong Kết nối > Tải font, mọi font đã cài hiển thị tên bằng chính chữ của font đó: font từ kho và font tự thêm trên thẻ. Giao diện tenor/ugly cũng vậy. Font vector .ttf trên X4 Classic và X4 Pro vẫn hiện tên bằng chữ thường.
• Khi không tìm thấy tên máy chủ font, kho báo rõ ("Không tìm thấy máy chủ font. Tên miền có thể đang lỗi, thử lại sau ít phút.") thay vì báo lỗi chung.
• Kết nối > Tải font vẫn mở không cần mạng, liệt kê font đã cài với trạng thái Đã cài hoặc Cập nhật.
• fonts.zip và gói SD mang 6 font: Be Vietnam Pro, Geist, Literata, Livvic, Noto Sans và Noto Serif, các tệp y hệt của v1.0.72.

Menu đọc

• Nếu menu đọc không xin được đủ bộ nhớ để mở, menu vẫn đóng và bạn đọc tiếp. Trước đây máy có thể khởi động lại.
• Trên X4 Pro, menu đọc biến khỏi màn khoảng 2 giây sau khi mở, đúng lúc thanh cuộn tự ẩn. Nay menu ở lại trên màn. Lỗi này thấy trên X4 Pro dùng chip màn SSD1677 (bản quốc tế).

Bluetooth

• Trên X3, mở Bộ lật Bluetooth từ Cài đặt không còn báo "Chưa khởi động được Bluetooth". Mọi X3 đều gặp lỗi này, ít nhất từ v1.0.68.
• Nguyên nhân là bộ nhớ. Cài đặt giữ khoảng 30 KB khi mở màn Bluetooth, trong khi sóng Bluetooth cần khoảng 82 KB trống để khởi động. Nay khi mở màn Bluetooth, Cài đặt trả lại bộ nhớ của các thẻ đang đóng.

Đồng hồ

• Múi giờ tự động nay hỏi máy chủ của Tenor (cross.tenor.vn/tz) trước, ipapi.co sau. ipapi.co trả lỗi HTTP 429 cho cả nhà mạng di động dùng chung 1 địa chỉ, nên các máy đó giữ giờ UTC, lệch 7 giờ ở Việt Nam.
• Máy chủ Tenor chỉ trả độ lệch giờ của vùng ứng với địa chỉ mạng của bạn, cùng định dạng với ipapi.co.

Còn vướng

• X4 Pro không có cài đặt nghiêng. Thao tác nghiêng trong menu chỉ có trên X3 và X4 Classic.
• X3 tải khoảng 46 KB/s, nên 1 font 10 MB mất khoảng 4 phút.
• Thay font .cpfont bằng TTF sẽ xóa font cũ trước khi gửi font mới.
• Khi tắt làm mịn, vài cặp mức độ đậm kề nhau chỉ khác khoảng 4,4 tới 4,9% điểm đen.
• Lần đầu mở mỗi trang của danh sách font đã cài, X3 cần thêm khoảng 0,2 tới 0,3 giây để vẽ tên bằng chữ của từng font.
• Trên vài X3 bản nội địa, màn ngủ vẫn còn lem mực. Bản này chưa sửa lỗi đó.
• Trên X4 Pro, nếu bộ nhớ thấp lúc bắt Wi-Fi (ví dụ đồng bộ giờ khi đang mở sách), máy bỏ qua bước tra múi giờ. Đồng bộ lại từ Màn chính.
