Tree Ring now quietly skips native lifecycle hooks in projects and linked worktrees that have no local .tree-ring. Hooks never borrow the primary checkout's store or initialize memory implicitly. Existing broken installations still report activation and path errors.
Codex plugin duplicate detection follows its effective project hook source in linked worktrees. Claude retains its separate host behavior. The runtime also handles genuinely absent stores for older hook commands already loaded by a host. Generated hook upgrades preserve unrelated project instructions and settings.
Native packages: Codex 0.3.9 and Claude Code 0.3.7. Agent Zero's separate Python lifecycle is unchanged.
