Changelog
Privacy & Security Improvements:
-
Completely removed READ_PHONE_STATE permission. The app no longer accesses call status.
-
Removed REQUEST_IGNORE_BATTERY_OPTIMIZATIONS from the Manifest to comply with modern app store policies and minimize invasive requests.
-
For Android 14+ compliance implemented RECEIVER_NOT_EXPORTED flags for system broadcasts, protecting the app from external intent injection.
Optimizations:
-
The foreground service (LightService) has been updated to utilize FOREGROUND_SERVICE_TYPE_DATA_SYNC, meeting the strict requirements for Android 14 and 15.
-
Re-engineered the brightness logic in the app to use logarithmic interpolation, resulting in much smoother transitions that better match human eye perception of light.
-
Optimized AutoStart receiver to ensure the service restarts reliably on modern Android versions after a device reboot.
-
Streamlined the main activity to remove redundant permission prompts and improve the configuration workflow. Additionally, this also resolves the previously mentioned issue in the previous Release 2.0.
-
Resolved dependency issues by migrating to native Android Notification builders.
-
Cleaned up background task management to prevent memory leaks when the service is stopped.
