OpenMBG - Modern Edition - 2.1.0
After a long wait, OpenMBG has finally been updated with all the latest bugfixes from PlatinumQuest.
Included in this package are three different versions of MBG, yes three of them for modding and customization purposes. They are as follows:
- Vanilla OpenMBG: The unmodded version of MBG, locked to 64fps vsync, no way to unlock this cap.
- Extended OpenMBG: The version of OpenMBG that has a few of MBExtender plugins built in (FramerateUnlock, JSONSupport, FileExtension, MathExtension), as well as capability to control FPS and Tick Rate separately (and decouple them as well).
- Speedrun Edition OpenMBG: The Speedrun Edition of OpenMBG, framerate is unlocked and controllable, rendering is coupled with physics.
Note that Extended OpenMBG is bundled alongside Vanilla OpenMBG for Windows, but is a separate executable for Mac.
OpenMBG - Modern Edition - 2.0.1
This release has the following fixes:
- Significantly reduce memory leaks when idling. The game should now be much more stable.
- Fixed resources not being freed up properly.
- Fixed missing audio dlls and fonts on Windows version.
OpenMBG - Modern Edition
Features a rewritten rendering pipeline that utilizes WebGPU (much thanks to a dedicated Torque3D developer) as well as providing native Mac support for 10.15 and above, both Intel and ARM.
Please note that this edition has an updated TorqueScript Interpreter and as a result, it will not function for mods that don't have source available or use only .dso files.
Greater attempts have been made towards replicating the physics calculations to be identical to Windows version of MBG (error bounds of 10^-15 to 10^-10), so you may find that some .recs sync and some don't.
The source code access is only an invite-only at the moment while its underlying engine is refactored and rewritten over time to be fully compliant with MIT license (which it isn't currently). Please fill the form here in order to receive access. (We usually accept all requests)
