2.5.1  versionCode 41  app-side update

Bannerlator 2.5.1

Run Windows apps and games on Android — no PC and no root required.

2.5.1 is a compatibility-and-tooling follow-up to 2.5. It fixes crashes and wrong colours on the SurfaceFlinger renderer, adds a live FEX runtime indicator so you can see exactly what's translating your game, makes FEXCore unixlib (.so) handling correct when you swap FEXCore versions per game, and expands the Environment Variable presets. Like 2.5, this is an entirely app-side update — no ImageFS reinstall — your containers, themes, custom accent and per-game settings all carry over untouched. Just install over 2.5.

✨ What's New

🎨 SurfaceFlinger renderer: colour & crash fix — new

The SurfaceFlinger host renderer (ASurfaceRenderer) got a crash-and-colour-accuracy fix: the red/blue channel swap is corrected, a GPU-side format converter and proper fencing were added, and the OpenGL / Vulkan / DRI3 paths are left untouched. Games that crashed or rendered with swapped colours on the SurfaceFlinger renderer now display correctly — with no regression to the Vulkan or OpenGL renderers.

  • New "Correct SurfaceFlinger colours" toggle — available per-container and per-game, shown inline under the Renderer picker when SurfaceFlinger is selected (on by default).
  • Device-verified on Adreno 750: DiRT 3 on DXVK + SurfaceFlinger renders with correct colours, no R/B swap, and no Vulkan/OpenGL regression.

🔁 Ported from GameNative #1620 / #1644.

🔎 FEX runtime indicator — new

The Graphics tab now shows a small badge telling you exactly what's running under the hood, read live from the running game — no guessing:

  • arm64ec vs x86-64
  • the translator — FEXCore / wowbox64 / Box64
  • for FEXCore, whether the native unixlib (.so) or the classic DLL path is active

🧩 FEXCore unixlib (.so) auto-match — new

Users often run different FEXCore versions per game or container — some DLL-only, some with the native .so unixlib. 2.5.1 keeps the shared .so exactly in sync with the version you selected, on every launch:

  • Pick a unixlib FEXCore → its matching .so is placed automatically.
  • Pick a DLL-only FEXCore → the .so is cleared, so you get a true DLL run.
  • Flip back and forth freely — each launch re-stamps it, so there's no stale .so silently overriding a DLL-only choice and no mismatched .dll/.so pair.
  • Uninstalling a unixlib FEXCore now removes its .so too.

🧰 18 new Environment Variable presets

The Add Environment Variable picker gained 18 presets across DXVK, VKD3D, Wine and Mesa — so common tuning vars are one tap away instead of typed by hand. Highlights: DXVK_DISABLE_TIMELINE_SEMAPHORES, VKD3D_SHADER_MODEL, DXVK_FRAME_RATE, VKD3D_CONFIG, WINEFSYNC, WINE_FULLSCREEN_FSR, MESA_VK_WSI_PRESENT_MODE and more.

💬 Requested by Angel (DXVK_DISABLE_TIMELINE_SEMAPHORES + VKD3D_SHADER_MODEL).

ℹ️ Updating in-app? 2.5.1 is entirely app-side — the standard APK covers everything. There's no ImageFS reinstall: your containers, themes, custom accent, per-game settings and control colours all carry over. The FEXCore .so sync happens automatically on your next game launch — including cleaning up any stale .so left from earlier installs.

🔗 Issues in this release

  • GameNative #1620 / #1644 — SurfaceFlinger crash + colour fix 🚀 Ported & shipped

🙏 Credits

  • Angel — requested the environment-variable presets that seeded the new preset set (DXVK_DISABLE_TIMELINE_SEMAPHORES, VKD3D_SHADER_MODEL).
  • GameNative (utkarshdalal) — upstream source of the SurfaceFlinger crash + colour fix (#1620 / #1644) the ASurfaceRenderer fix is ported from.

The SurfaceFlinger colour toggle, the FEX runtime indicator, the FEXCore .so auto-match, and the preset expansion — the wiring into Bannerlator — is original engineering by The412Banner. Full lineage and credits are in the README.

If Mali users have serious issues after updating to 2.5.1 , use the 2.5 apk files on THIS RELEASE to roll back. Provide logs, otherwise I have no way to fix anything
