Bannerlator 2.6.2
Bannerlator 2.6.2
Run Windows apps and games on Android — no PC and no root required.
2.6.2 is a fixes-and-hardening update. No new headline system — this one sharpens what's already here. The in-game performance HUD got a ground-up hardening pass (one shared FPS source, device-complete metric readers, and a new overlay style), component downloads now keep going when you leave the app, and a batch of reported bugs are fixed. Like the last several releases it's entirely app-side — no ImageFS reinstall — your containers, themes, custom accent and per-game settings all carry over untouched. Just install over 2.6.

- Compatibility Layers download menu — browse / install / remove every component with progress bars, now continuing in the background.
🕹️ Games, shortcuts & input
- Game library (grid / list, sort, filters) with redesigned cards.
- Add shortcuts from storage; back up / restore saves (GameHub-compatible zips).
- SteamGridDB cover scraping; per-game language / locale.
- On-screen touch controls (theme-follow or per-game colour) + virtual gamepads.
- Physical controllers (SDL2) + touchpad / mouse emulation; rebuilt binding screen.
🌐 Community Configs
- Catalog browser (globe) with search, filters, sort, and "Matches my device".
- One-tap Apply — surgically merges just that config's settings, preserving the rest.
- Smart install of a config's missing DXVK / VKD3D / FEXCore / Turnip, then auto-applies.
- Config detail — provenance, what-it-sets, before-apply diff, upvotes / downloads / comments.
- Share your own — export the full recipe (never your files, logins or tuning), anonymous by default; My uploads to edit / delete.
- Optional account (username + password, recovery-key, no email) so uploads follow you and carry your name — everything works anonymously without it.
- Read-only for your setup — nothing changes unless you tap Apply.
🛒 Built-in stores & cross-store Download Manager
- Steam — user/pass or QR, owned library, built-in depot engine (JavaSteam), 4-tier speed, session hardening, DLC picker, true-size fix, optional Goldberg patch.
- Epic / Amazon — sign in, browse, download / install / launch (incl. Epic free games).
- GOG — DRM-free library with cloud-save sync.
- ⬇ Cross-store Download Manager — one view of all downloads + installed library, live progress, background + shade notifications, launch / verified uninstall.
🔒 Security & your store accounts
- Third-party sign-ins (not affiliated with the stores) — use at your own risk.
- Credentials redacted from logs — signed URLs, OAuth codes, GOG secret / refresh-token, account IDs — in logcat and shareable files.
🧰 Bundled Start-menu utilities
- WFM, AIO Graphics Test, Game Controller Test;
.lnk"Start in" working-directory support.
🎛️ Interface & in-game overlay
- Jetpack Compose UI with an icon-led drawer; your theme recolours the whole app and the in-game drawer.
- 16 themes + HSV custom-accent picker.
- In-game overlay drawer + Task Manager (works on any renderer).
- File Manager with Favorites — storage-badged, real thumbnails, doubles as the universal import picker.
- Performance HUD — three overlay styles (Classic / GameHub / GameNative-style with live graphs), one shared FPS source + device-complete metrics (FPS / frame time / CPU-GPU load & temp / RAM / battery / power), accent outline, position saved per game.
- FEX runtime indicator — live arm64ec vs x86-64, translator, and unixlib vs DLL.
📥 Builds & distribution
- Three flavors (standard / PuBG / Ludashi), optimized release builds, AOSP-testkey signed, GitHub Actions CI + tagged releases.
✨ What's New
🎛️ In-game HUD — hardened + a new overlay style
The performance HUD got a ground-up pass:
- One shared FPS source — every overlay style now reads the same number (they could drift before).
- Device-complete metric readers — GPU load, CPU / GPU temperatures, RAM, battery / power were rewritten with proper vendor discovery, so values that used to read 0% on many non-Adreno GPUs now populate correctly.
- A new third overlay — a GameNative-style HUD with live graphs (compact pill or stacked list), alongside the Classic and GameHub styles, switchable live in-game.
- Polish — the config UI moved to compact chips in an aligned grid; the outline is now a slider-controlled accent border matching your theme; the FPS limiter gained quick 30 / 60 / 90 / 120 presets; and the GPU-model row shows a clean chip name (e.g.
Adreno 750) instead of the raw driver string.
⬇️ Component downloads keep going in the background
Downloading a large compatibility layer (Proton, DXVK, box64, FEXCore, rootfs) no longer stops when you minimize or lock the phone — it continues via a foreground service with a shade notification, and resumes if interrupted. (Thanks @kylinzang — #122.)
🔧 Fixes
- DXVK + VKD3D — the container editor no longer lets you pair a DXVK 1.x build with VKD3D. They're binary-incompatible (DXVK 1.x's
dxgican't back VKD3D-Proton), which used to fail the DX12 path silently. (Thanks @GmoLargey — #113.) - WOWBox64 label — on arm64ec containers the per-game editor now correctly labels the x86 backend "WOWBox64" instead of "Box64". (Thanks @railexcatapangdiaz-ux — #111.)
- HUD — the Classic overlay no longer shows both orientations when you toggle a metric, and no longer resizes on toggle; power draw now reads correctly on devices (Xiaomi / Poco) whose battery-current sign is inverted. (Thanks to Discord user devaspe for the reports.)
- Guarded a failed component install from reporting success.
🔐 Run games as administrator
New per-container "Run as administrator" toggle (on by default) for installers and games that need elevation.
🌐 Community — thank you 🙏
Everything you've shared directly to Bannerlator's own Community Config repo now adds up to:
And because the in-app browser also merges the BannerHub catalog, the full set you can browse and one-tap-apply inside the app is bigger still:
166 games and 184 configs shared straight to Bannerlator by 252 of you — and 2,257 games / 1,548 configs usable in-app once the BannerHub catalog is merged in. All of it growing. Every config you share, every game you add, every account that joins makes this better for the next person. This project grows only because of the community's support and participation — thank you.

ℹ️ Updating in-app? 2.6.2 is entirely app-side — the standard APK covers everything. There's no ImageFS reinstall: your containers, themes, custom accent, per-game settings and control colours all carry over. Just install over 2.6.
🙏 Credits
- GameNative — the new GameNative-style HUD overlay in this release is adapted from their
PerformanceHudView, and the hardened, device-complete metric readers build directly on their GPU/thermal/battery coverage work. (Bannerlator's VulkanAHardwareBufferpresent path, the standalone FPS-limiter mechanism, and the SurfaceFlinger colour fix also come from / were cross-examined against GameNative.) Huge thanks to the GameNative team. - Reports & requests this cycle — @kylinzang (#122), @GmoLargey (#113), @railexcatapangdiaz-ux (#111), and Discord user devaspe (HUD dual-orientation & power-reading reports).
- The wider stack — built on the Winlator → cmod → Star Bionic lineage (brunodev85, coffincolors, Pipetto-crypto, star-emu) with DXVK, VKD3D-Proton, Box64, FEXCore, JavaSteam and leegao's bcn_layer. Full attribution in the repo README.
🔗 Notes
- Fixes-and-hardening release — no new subsystem, and nothing about your existing containers or settings changes on update.
