Bannerlator 2.9
Bannerlator 2.9
Run Windows apps and games on Android — no PC and no root required.
2.9 is a big feature release — it adds a full Power-user Performance control set (safe boosts for everyone, plus a root-gated hardware-tuning tier) and finalizes Virtual Controller Pro, a complete on-screen controls overhaul. Everything from 2.8.x is included. As always it's entirely app-side — no ImageFS reinstall — your containers, themes, custom accent and per-game settings carry over untouched. Just install over any 2.8.x build.
⚡ Power-user Performance controls (new)
A new Performance section — reachable from App Settings → Performance and the in-game Debug tab, kept in two-way sync — with global defaults and optional per-game overrides.
No root required (everyone):
- Sustained Performance Mode — keeps clocks steady instead of spiking and dropping, so long sessions stay smoother.
- Thread Priority Boost — raises the game's CPU-worker threads so they get more time.
- Prefer Big Cores — pins the running game to your device's fastest cores.
Root-gated tier (opt-in, Magisk / KernelSU / APatch): locked behind a "Grant Root" gate with a scroll-to-accept "use at your own risk" disclaimer —
- CPU governor → performance, Lock CPU frequency to max, Keep all cores online, Lock GPU to max clock, Disable thermal throttling, Fan to maximum, and a "Free memory now" action.
Built safe by default:
- Puts your device back exactly as it found it — every changed setting is restored to its precise original value automatically when you exit a game, background the app, or if it crashes (and it self-repairs on next launch after a hard kill).
- A device-anchored Temperature Watchdog — it reads your device's own thermal limits and rolls settings back before it overheats. Presets: Conservative / Balanced / Aggressive / Manual.
- Full in-app help — a "?" on every toggle, an "Explain toggles" overview, a watchdog explainer, and live CPU/GPU temps + your device's own thermal limits shown inline.
Tune it before launching (App Settings) or live from the in-game Debug tab. The root tier is entirely optional and gated behind the risk disclaimer.
🎮 Virtual Controller Pro (new)
The on-screen controls editor has been completely reworked — a redesigned editor with a dedicated settings pane and toolbar, control scale up to 300%, richer visual styles, and improved external-controller handling. Build and tune touch layouts far more precisely than before.
🐛 New: Mali GPU issue report board
Mali-GPU users now have a dedicated place to report games that don't work — a structured report form and public forum threads so issues are tracked and discussed instead of lost. Every report gets its own public discussion thread where the developers answer directly.
- 📝 File a Mali game report — a quick form; attach your log file(s) so we can actually help.
- 📋 Browse all reports & dev answers — see what's been reported, answered, and fixed.
➕ Everything from 2.8.x, carried forward
All of the 2.8 line is included — the Fusion HUD and cross-vendor performance metrics, frame generation (bionic-fg / lsfg-vk) with a Performance mode, the FPS limiter, Community Configs + accounts, the File Manager overhaul, Smart Game Import, background component downloads, in-game refresh-rate unlock, custom startup services, and driver-source management.

ℹ️ Root is only needed for the root-gated performance tier (governor/clock/thermal/fan). Everything else in Bannerlator — including the non-root Performance boosts — needs no root. The root tier is opt-in, gated behind an explicit "use at your own risk" agreement, and every change auto-reverts when you leave the game.
