Moira 6.10.1 brings the complete Light Box conformance baseline (438 / 438 P0 surfaces) and the Natal Discovery packet routes (which were excluded from the v6.10.0 tag) into the published PyPI package, overhauls the top-level documentation, and simplifies the Light Box release gate so that tagged commits, main, and PyPI artifacts remain aligned in a single commit.

Light Box calculation truth and conformance (438 / 438 P0 at LIGHT_BOX_FULL)

Every release-blocking (P0) calculation surface in Moira — 188 Python engine callables and 250 FastAPI /v1/* routes across all 18 calculation families — now satisfies the LIGHT_BOX_FULL visibility contract:

  • Foundational astronomy, sidereal frames, and chart geometry (R1–R3): Additive calculation truth is exposed across planetary positions, sidereal ayanamsa reductions, house systems, chart-wheel construction, aspect and chart-shape geometry, station motion (station truth baselines), solar condition phenomena, and void-of-course moon evaluation.
  • Phenomena, horizon, visibility, and locational astronomy (Phase II / R4): Auditable inputs, frame/time/ephemeris provenance, and intermediate derivation steps are exposed across eclipse, heliacal visibility, parans, local space, and astrocartography surfaces.
  • Predictive, Hellenistic, Vedic, and electional doctrines (Phase III / R5A–R5C): Time-lord systems, profections, primary directions, progressions, classical dignities/lots/bounds/decans, Vedic dasha/varga/strength/panchanga/gochar surfaces, and Muhurta/electional evaluators expose explicit doctrinal policy receipts, intermediate mathematical steps, and engine-to-REST parity.
  • Celestial catalogs, relationship search, and compositional surfaces (R6A–R6B): Fixed stars, deep-sky anchors, cosmic reference points, asteroids, comets, harmonic/midpoint/composite charts, and bounded relationship search preserve end-to-end provenance and calculation receipts.

Natal Discovery packet routes and KernelPool indexing

  • Natal Discovery REST and engine surfaces: Admits the /v1/natal-discovery/* REST endpoints and underlying packet builders for structured, receipt-backed natal chart discovery alongside hardened chart request identity and observer validation.
  • Single-pass KernelPool startup indexing: Optimizes SPK segment indexing during KernelPool initialization into a single pass without altering ephemeris segment selection or numerical reduction.

Release gate simplification and documentation alignment

  • Single-commit Light Box release gate: scripts/check_lightbox_release_gate.py no longer requires a second attestation commit recording a parent commit SHA. The gate now validates deterministic inventory fingerprints (SHA-256), engine/manifest version alignment (6.10.1), and LIGHT_BOX_FULL coverage (438 / 438 P0) directly in a single commit.
  • Documentation and README overhaul: Overhauls README.md for 6.10.1 with current architecture, mathematical strata, and Light Box conformance tables, synchronized across the Git wiki and website publication bundle.

See release notes and compatibility notes for additional detail. No breaking API changes were introduced relative to 6.10.0.

Publication verification

Released from immutable tag v6.10.1, commit f4adf5384e75e0af525f8142686d06bb6033f3ab.

  • Light Box Conformance Gate: 438 / 438 P0 surfaces (188 Python engine callables, 250 FastAPI /v1/* routes) verified at LIGHT_BOX_FULL across all 18 calculation families (0 BLACK_BOX, 0 GRAY_BOX, 0 PARTIAL_LIGHT_BOX, 0 active waivers).
  • Release Acceptance Matrix on the tagged commit and Release Hardening on main (bbee2df, following moira.wiki submodule pointer sync) passed across all matrix jobs, including Python 3.10 server compatibility.
  • Tagged publication workflow, successful attempt 2 completed. PyPI 6.10.1 contains all 20 wheels for CPython 3.10–3.14 across Linux x86_64, Windows AMD64, Intel macOS, and Apple Silicon, plus the source archive (21 files total).
  • The first upload attempt hit PyPI's 10 GiB project storage limit after the first wheel. After older superseded releases were removed to free 4.77 GiB, only the failed publication job was rerun with skip-existing: true using the original CI build artifacts.
