Swap A/B and X/Y buttons option doesn't stay on (more feature request than issue really?)

This is more of a feature request than anything but can you make it so that when you click on the "Swap A/B and X/Y buttons" option it remains on until you click it again?

also while I'm at it, maybe also have the program remember and default to the last controller type you had selected too?
