Issues
This document contains known issues with PlayTimeManager and their workarounds.
The chat-based input systems used in the Goals and Join Streaks GUI may not function properly when creating new goals or setting up join streak rewards through chat-based inputs.
This issue is caused by external plugins that intercept and control chat messages, preventing them from reaching PlayTimeManager. The problem stems from deprecated Spigot's AsyncPlayerChatEvent conflicting with Paper's newer AsyncChatEvent. Other plugins that handle chat events may block PlayTimeManager's chat listeners.
Reminder: PlayTimeManager does not support Spigot servers and is designed specifically for Paper. This issue cannot be resolved without removing the conflicting plugins responsible for chat event interference.
For Goals System:
- Create goals using
/playtimegoal create <goal_name>instead of the GUI - Edit goal files manually in
plugins/PlayTimeManager/Goals/directory - Use
/playtimereloadto apply changes after editing files
For Join Streaks System:
- Create join streak reward files manually in
plugins/PlayTimeManager/Rewards/directory - Edit the
.ymlfiles directly with your desired settings - Use
/playtimereloadto apply changes after editing files
Currently this issue has been confirmed with VentureChat, AdvancedChat and SupremeChat, but there are likely other plugins that cause the same problem.
