SQL Server Diagnostics is a Windows desktop application for inspecting the health, configuration, performance, and potential issues of Microsoft SQL Server instances through a curated set of read-only diagnostic queries.

Extract the ZIP to a local directory and run:

SqlServerDiagnostics.exe

No installation or database-side deployment is required.

Security

• Diagnostics are read-only with respect to persistent database data.
• Suggested SQL is report data and is never executed automatically.
• No automatic remediation is performed.
• No automatic network access is performed.
• Remembered credentials are protected with Windows DPAPI CurrentUser scope.
• Passwords are not stored in connection-profile JSON.
• Exported reports may contain operational database evidence and must be protected appropriately.

Limitations

• The executable is currently unsigned.
• No installer is provided.
• No automatic update mechanism is included.
• Additional SQL Server and Azure environments are not certified.
• DPAPI-protected credentials are specific to the Windows user context that saved them.
