Palbox Studio
Palbox Studio 1.1.1 π’
Palbox Studio is a desktop editor for the Palworld 1.0 Global Palbox. Open your box, build your
dream team, and save with confidence β Palbox Studio creates and verifies a backup before every
write.
Global Palbox only: Palbox Studio does not edit world saves, bases, or party Pals.
Palbox Studio is fully functional but still under active development, with more refinements to come.
This release includes important save fixes, editing corrections, quality-of-life improvements, and
validated Linux support.
Have an idea, improvement, or feature request? Feel free to open an issue β feedback is always
welcome.

π οΈ Updates and fixes
Users of Palbox Studio 1.1.0 should update before continuing to edit and save their Global Palbox.
Save fixes
Fixed a save failure that could occur when adding or changing Work Suitability levels.
Fixed condensation values so the editor's 0β4 stars correctly match Palworld's internal Rank 1β5.
Palbox Studio now checks whether the open save has been changed by Palworld, another editor, cloud
synchronization, or another program.
Saving is blocked when the file on disk no longer matches the copy opened in Palbox Studio.
Added a clear warning and reload option when an outside change is detected.
Backups and temporary save files receive additional verification before the original is replaced.
Old or outdated editor data can no longer be applied to a different Pal after a slot changes.
Editing fixes
Work Suitability levels now correctly account for both the species' natural ability and the Pal's
saved bonus.
Changing species preserves the Pal's existing Work Suitability bonuses.
Negative Trust values are now preserved instead of being reset when another field is edited.
Pal edits are checked before they are applied, preventing partial or invalid changes.
Newly added Pals receive healthy starting values for HP, food, sanity, and Trust.
Alpha and Lucky settings now remain properly matched with the Pal's saved species information.
Partner Skill level and effects now update correctly with condensation.
Quality-of-life improvements
Added a Last Palbox button for quickly reopening the most recently used save.
Added an optional Open on launch setting.
If the remembered save was moved or deleted, automatic opening is disabled instead of repeatedly
showing an error.
Simply viewing or switching between unchanged Pals no longer marks the file as edited.
Added a warning before opening another box or reloading a file when unsaved changes exist.
Renamed the condensation control to Pal Essence Condenser and show both its stars and internal
save Rank.
Increased the default window size to 1440Γ900 while keeping the existing 1024Γ680 minimum.
Improved Pal card sizing and gender icon consistency.
Testing and reliability
Added a safe synthetic Global Palbox used for automatic save testing.
Expanded tests for saving, backups, condensation, Work Suitability, Trust, database upgrades, and
outside-file changes.
Existing presets, groups, tags, and remembered settings are preserved when the local database is
upgraded.
βοΈ Cross-platform builds
Windows and Linux builds are produced from the same source through a GitHub Actions pipeline, helping
keep each release consistent across both platforms.
β¬οΈ Windows downloads
Installer β PalboxStudio-1.1.1-setup.exe
Run the installer normally. It installs Palbox Studio and adds a Start menu shortcut.
Portable β PalboxStudio-1.1.1-portable.zip
Extract the archive and run Palbox Studio.exe. No installation is required. This is also the
version used for Vortex.
Windows 11 already includes the Microsoft Edge WebView2 runtime used by Palbox Studio. On older
versions of Windows, install the free Microsoft Edge WebView2 Runtime if the application does not
start.
π§ Validated Linux builds
The Linux build has been validated on Ubuntu 24.04 and newer, with testing completed by
Fruitbat.
Palbox Studio successfully installs, launches, opens a Global Palbox, edits Pals, and saves changes
on the tested Ubuntu environment.
Testing on additional Linux distributions and desktop environments is still welcome. Please report
any platform-specific issues you encounter.
AppImage β PalboxStudio-1.1.1-linux.AppImage
Make it executable, then run it:
chmod +x PalboxStudio-1.1.1-linux.AppImage
./PalboxStudio-1.1.1-linux.AppImage
No installation is required.
Debian package β PalboxStudio-1.1.1-linux.deb
Install it with:
sudo apt install ./PalboxStudio-1.1.1-linux.deb
On Linux, Palbox Studio renders through the system WebKitGTK runtime. If the application does not
start, install the required runtime using your package manager. For Debian or Ubuntu:
sudo apt install libwebkit2gtk-4.1-0
π‘οΈ Before editing
Close Palworld before saving any changes.
Palbox Studio detects outside changes and refuses to overwrite a Global Palbox that no longer
matches the copy it opened. Keeping Palworld closed is still the safest and recommended workflow.
Palbox Studio creates and verifies a backup before modifying your Global Palbox save. Keeping an
additional copy of any save you care about is always a good precaution.
π Unsigned build, antivirus, and inspecting the source
Palbox Studio is currently unsigned, so Windows SmartScreen or antivirus software may show a warning
the first time it launches. This is expected for unsigned software.
The source code is available for inspection, and instructions for compiling your own executable are
included in the README.
Source-available under the PolyForm Strict License 1.0.0. Palbox Studio is an unofficial,
fan-made tool. Palworld is a trademark of Pocketpair, Inc.
