Barakah 0.2.1 makes the included adhan part of the executable itself.
Download
Barakah_0.2.1_universal.dmg — Apple Silicon and Intel; requires macOS 14 Sonoma or later.
Open the DMG and drag Barakah into Applications. Barakah has no Dock icon; look for the crescent in the menu bar.
What changed
- The freely licensed default adhan is embedded directly in the app executable.
- Standalone copies of the binary no longer depend on a neighboring audio file or resource bundle.
- Fresh installs continue to use the included adhan automatically.
- Recordings added in Settings or Application Support still override the included default.
The recording remains the verified CC0 “Muslim calling to prayer” by Wikimedia contributor Aishatu98. See assets/NOTICE.md for provenance.
First launch
This build is ad-hoc signed rather than notarized with a paid Apple Developer certificate. If macOS blocks the first launch, click Done, open System Settings → Privacy & Security, then click Open Anyway. This is required once.
