Mupen64Plus PS5 0.7.0
New
- GPU renderer (paraLLEl-RDP on Vulkan), on by default: games are drawn at 4x the N64's resolution (1x-8x in Settings, Internal resolution). GoldenEye 007, Perfect Dark, Conker, Majora's Mask and Donkey Kong 64 run at full speed.
- Faster sound processing (HLE), on by default. If a game's sound is wrong, set Audio processing to Accurate (LLE).
- Settings: Renderer (GPU or CPU), Internal resolution, GPU sync, Audio processing.
Fixes
- When a game blanks the screen while loading (Perfect Dark), the screen now goes black instead of showing the last picture, which looked like a freeze.
- The pause menu scrolls: it no longer runs off the bottom of the screen.
- The logs folder keeps the last 5 sessions (boot.log, boot.prev.log to boot.prev4.log).
Good to know
- The first time a new scene appears, the GPU may pause briefly while it prepares that scene's shaders. They are saved, so it won't pause there again.
Mupen64Plus PS5 0.6.3
Fixes
- In-app updates now install correctly. Before, the updated app wouldn't start ("Can't start the game or app", CE-107750-0): the updater wrote the new files without execute permission.
- The update is unpacked next to the app, the app closes, and a background helper installs it. A notification says when to open the app again.
If you have 0.6.0, 0.6.1 or 0.6.2
- Install this version by hand once: delete /data/homebrew/PPSA99064, then copy the PPSA99064 folder from Mupen64PlusPS5.zip to /data/homebrew/.
- Those versions don't offer this update themselves (their updater would break the app). Updates after this one install from inside the app.
Mupen64Plus PS5 0.6.2
Fixes
- Fixes 0.6.1, which didn't start ("Can't start the game or app"): its published build was faulty
- If you already have 0.6.1, the app can't start to update itself: copy the PPSA99064 folder from this release to /data/homebrew/ by hand
Mupen64Plus PS5 0.6.0
- Now a native app folder: copy PPSA99064 to /data/homebrew (no .elf to send)
- Updates itself from GitHub: new versions are offered when the app starts
- Settings: "Check for updates" turns the offer off
- Optional compressed .ffpfsc image
Mupen64Plus PS5 0.6.1
Fixes
- The app's version is now recorded correctly in the repository, so stores and the built-in update check agree on it
- Faster start-up when the console is offline
