Troubleshooting

LED / boot state

Symptom Meaning Fix
Boots back into the PS5 OS You pressed power too early, or rest-mode features are off Enable Supply Power to USB Ports = Always, wait for the static orange LED
Freezes instead of entering rest mode Incompatible HEN / kstuff enabled Disable it and retry
Orange LED never stops blinking Rest mode not reached Check the exploit chain; confirm the correct firmware
White LED but black screen Linux booted, display init failed See below

White LED, black screen

  • Remove video=DP-1:1920x1080@60 from cmdline.txt.
  • Toggle HDCP on/off.
  • Try a different monitor / capture card and resolution.
  • Add amdgpu.force_1080p=1 to cmdline.txt on the FAT partition.

Payload "firmware" errors

  • "Unsupported firmware" — the console is not on 13.00/13.20/13.60.
  • "13.60 offsets incomplete" / signature check failed — the running firmware does not match the selected offset table (e.g. a modified/hybrid firmware).

M.2 issues

  • nvme0n1p1 missing — the hidden GPT was not written or the PS5 wiped it; re-run m2_init.
  • Partition disappeared after re-running m2_init — do not re-run m2_init on an existing partition; the installer skips it automatically. Re-scan with blockdev --rereadpt / partprobe.
  • .img not found on boot — the initramfs mounts ext4; make sure the data partition is ext4 and holds the .img. Boot files still come from the USB.

WebUI / FTP

  • WebUI is on port 8080, FTP on port 21 while the payload runs; the page auto-boots after ~2 minutes.
  • If the WebUI shows no files, the USB is not mounted / not detected.
