v0.2.3 — keyless metadata discovery

Choose a tag to compare

@fjordan fjordan released this 13 Sep 16:53
01e5742

Data MCP 0.2.3 allows initialization, tool and resource listings, and the reviewed therundown://brief read without a Product API key. Product API tool calls remain authenticated. All six tools now publish human-readable titles and structured output schemas. The attached source ZIP is 41,072 bytes with SHA-256 cb0a0841aa040f049ffddec5b5fa2436cb9de721a30a3bd53270132db7204025.

v0.2.2 — bundle README names the hosted endpoint

Choose a tag to compare

@fjordan fjordan released this 11 Sep 17:45
0322410

The 0.2.2 source bundle's README names the hosted endpoint. The 0.2.1 bundle told every downloader that the ZIP "does not provide a hosted data MCP endpoint" and never mentioned https://mcp.therundown.io/mcp.

What changed: the bundle README (generated from BUNDLE-README.md) and version strings. server.mjs, smoke.mjs and test/server.test.mjs are unchanged from 0.2.1 except the serverInfo version. The six read-only tools, the therundown://brief resource, and the error and empty-result fields behave exactly as in 0.2.1.

Verified before publication:

  • The extracted archive's offline tests passed 34/34 on Node 22.
  • A metered smoke run from the extracted archive returned status: ok, 6 tools, 10 events and 12 main lines.
  • The website's verify_bundle checks passed: member allowlist, manifest, package version, and no private text.

Note: the hosted endpoint serves the same tools. It still reports serverInfo version 0.2.1 until its runtime image is rebuilt from this release; its behavior is identical.

v0.2.1 — official local data MCP

Choose a tag to compare

@fjordan fjordan released this 10 Sep 16:08
15fe3a8

Official local stdio build of TheRundown data MCP.

This tag marks the exact source commit the published 0.2.1 bundle was built from. Later commits on the default branch changed documentation only and would not reproduce this artifact byte for byte.

The identical bundle is also published at https://therundown.io/downloads/therundown-data-mcp-0.2.1.zip and its per-file hashes are recorded in releases/0.2.1/MANIFEST.json.

Install (local stdio)

Requires Node.js 22 or newer. Extract the bundle, run npm ci --ignore-scripts, then point your client at the absolute path of server.mjs. Supply your Product API key through the THERUNDOWN_API_KEY environment variable. Never place a key in a URL, a prompt, or a browser bundle.

Tools

Six read-only tools: list_sports, list_affiliates, list_markets, list_events, get_main_lines, list_futures. The server also exposes the therundown://brief resource. It reads the Product API and does not mutate state.

Hosted alternative

A hosted streamable-HTTP endpoint is available at https://mcp.therundown.io/mcp. It exposes the same six tools and authenticates with a Product API key in exactly one header, either X-TheRundown-Key or Authorization: Bearer. The local bundle in this release remains the air-gapped option for environments that cannot call out to a hosted service.
