ign v1.1 — the agent surface and IDE integration: ign becomes the canonical agent/IDE interface to Ignition 8.3+ gateways, with MCP/LSP transports, guarded EAM lifecycle writes, byte-faithful tag transfer, and an editing round-trip — all 25 v1.1 requirements shipped across 7 phases.

Highlights

  • Agent surface — ign api call raw REST passthrough (gateway-verbatim data, catch-all 4xx→exit-2, auth-header refusal) + curated daily checks: license status, redundancy status, gan status, diagnostics bundle generate/status/wait/download — live-verified on 8.3.3 + 8.3.6
  • Guarded EAM writes — full suspend/resume/cancel/force/modify/delete lifecycle behind a blast-radius preview gate (CLI refusal prose IS the preview; TUI Confirm modals); live-proven on a disposable WHK controller rig
  • Tag transfer, byte-faithful — XML passthrough with sha256 round-trip fidelity oracle (both rigs), CLI-generated CSV with documented losses, loss-report gate before imports; WebDev route bundle 1.1.0 → 1.3.0
  • Historian binding closed — spike verdict CLOSURE: [historyEnabled, historyProvider, sampleMode] live-proven on both trial rigs; history bindings visible in tags config
  • Workspace + edit — ign workspace checkout/status/push (injective hostile-name-safe path mapping, proptest-proven; manifest three-way compare) and ign edit fetch→decode→$EDITOR→encode→push with no-op detection, fail-closed encode, staleness gate
  • MCP transport — ign mcp serve (hand-rolled JSON-RPC 2.0 stdio, 83-tool clap-derived catalog with CI parity, confirm gate) — proven live by a real Claude Code client
  • LSP for nvim — ign lsp serves completions/hover/diagnostics from TTL-cached gateway truth (never a blocking call inside an LSP request); ignition-nvim PR live
  • TUI theming — four named themes × four capability tiers (truecolor → 256 → 16 → mono), WCAG-AAA dark body contrast, CI tokenization gate, per-profile polling cadence with sub-second clamp
  • Foundation — ignition-core::Session single execution seam, one-migration config schema with lenient degradation, executable contract rituals (Three-Place slug rule, stdout-purity byte-scan over the real binary)

Verification

  • ~1,255 Rust test fns; CI green on ubuntu + macos
  • Live evidence on 8.3.3 + 8.3.6 rigs for every capture-first phase; real Claude Code client completed initialize → tools/list → tools/call (83 tools) against ign mcp serve
  • 25/25 v1.1 requirements shipped (7 phases, 47 plans, 113 tasks over 12 days)
