Version 4.3.0 to 4.3.1

1. Logging System Enhancements

  • New Log Saving Options: Added granular control over log file generation. Users can now enable or disable the saving of the Standard Log (.txt) and Extended Log (.txt) via the configuration tab.
  • Initialization Logic: Log files are no longer automatically created at startup. They are now initialized after settings are loaded, respecting the user's saved preferences.
  • Internal Tracking: Added new settings keys (SaveStandardLog, SaveExtendedLog) and corresponding Tkinter Boolean variables (save_std_log_var, save_ext_log_var) to track these preferences.

2. Configuration & UI Improvements

  • Consolidated Directory Layout: Combined "GoPro Max Directories" and "GoPro Hero Directories" into a single, streamlined section: GoPro Locations (Max & Hero).
  • Renamed Labels: Updated various UI labels for clarity and consistency. "Directories" and "Paths" have been renamed to "Locations" (e.g., "Utility Location", "Max Source Location").
  • Unified Configuration File: Standardized the internal configuration file reference to self.config_file (pointing to GoPro_Workflow_Config.json) to improve consistency between loading and saving operations.
  • Enhanced Tooltips: Added detailed limit information to tooltips for "Video Quality (CRF)" and "GPU Quality (QP)", explaining the 0-51 range and its impact on quality.

3. Layout & Visual Updates

Improved Grid Alignment:

  • Redesigned the "General Settings & Tools" and "Nadir Settings" sections using a 5-column grid.

  • This ensures "Browse" buttons are strictly aligned to the right margin, even when running as a compiled executable.

  • Spacing Consistency: Standardized vertical spacing (pady=5) between all input fields for a cleaner and more professional look.

4. Bug Fixes & Robustness

  • Dropbox/Cloud Sync Protection: Implemented a retry loop (up to 3 attempts) in the save settings function. This prevents crashes caused by PermissionError when cloud services like Dropbox lock the configuration file during synchronization.

  • EXE-Specific Logic:

  • Added logic to hide the "Utility Location" browse button when running as a .exe (as tools are integrated).

  • Ensured that "ImageMagick" and "Nadir Image" browse buttons remain visible and functional in the .exe version.

  • Flexible File Browsing: Updated the browse_file method with *args to allow optional file type filters (e.g., .exe for ImageMagick, .png for Nadir) without causing positional argument errors.
