TSX restarts during an update. Copy text or save screenshots you want to keep first. Intricate photo textures, overlapping regions, or long translations may not fit directly over the image; those regions retain the original pixels and offer the full translation.

TSX (Translate X) is a free, MIT-licensed translation app for Mac, with selected-text translation, screenshot OCR, bidirectional editing, Apple translation, optional user-configured services, and signed application updates.

Download TSX-1.0.0-macOS-universal.dmg and drag TSX into Applications. The source-code archives are not installers.

Requires macOS 15 or later. The universal app includes Apple silicon and Intel binaries. Accessibility and screen-recording access is requested when needed. Third-party service fees are separate from this free app.

Automatic language detection can misidentify isolated words, names, or short screenshot labels. Cancel an unrelated language download and select the correct source language to retry.
