v0.4.1 — Firmware 1.1.0 and newer

Pre-release

Choose a tag to compare

@ThomasHFWright ThomasHFWright released this 11 Sep 17:28

Allows Adjust Pro firmware 1.1.0 and newer, replacing the exact 1.1.17 restriction.

Fractal's published 1.1.4 and 1.1.17 notes describe bug fixes with no RGB feature additions. There is no separate 1.1.0 entry; accepting that baseline is a compatibility policy, not a claim of hardware validation. Only 1.1.17 has been hardware-tested.

Version comparison is numeric. Older and malformed versions are refused before RGB access; existing protocol/topology/LampArray checks remain. RGB-only scope, effects, Direct streaming and official OpenRGB 1.0rc3.1 / API 4 compatibility are unchanged.

Validation: packet/transport regression plus minimum/older/newer/multi-digit/malformed version cases passed. Installed plugin detects all 12 controllers on the connected 1.1.17 hub and retains active lighting settings.

v0.4.0 — Shared Direct streaming

Pre-release

Choose a tag to compare

@ThomasHFWright ThomasHFWright released this 11 Sep 17:12

Adds a separate Fractal Adjust Pro Direct (all accessories) device to the official OpenRGB 1.0rc3.1 host (plugin API 4 / Qt 5).

  • Streams per-LED RGB through volatile LampArray feature reports, with no per-frame flash writes.
  • Exposes the firmware's shared, mirrored buffer: 76 LEDs on the tested setup, approximately 16 fps for full frames. Existing independent hardware-theme controllers remain available.
  • Adds Stop Direct — resume hardware effects, native Direct color profiles, and automatic backup/migration of older hardware profiles so tray themes release streaming.
  • Restores hardware lighting on normal plugin unload/host exit. An SDK disconnect alone leaves the last frame visible.

Validated on Linux x86-64 / firmware 1.1.17: SDK full-device, zone and single-LED updates; 492 streamed frames; Direct profile round-trip; profile migration; GUI stop; tray themes/Off; exact regular/startup/orientation restoration. The user visually confirmed the moving chase on the installed plugin. The separate Effects plugin has not been tested. Other firmware is refused.

Experimental, AI-generated, RGB only. No patched OpenRGB build required. See README and docs/validation.md for installation, dependencies and limitations.

v0.3.0 — Fractal themes, custom lighting and startup effects

Choose a tag to compare

@ThomasHFWright ThomasHFWright released this 11 Sep 16:37

Adds a Fractal Adjust Pro tab to the normal OpenRGB 1.0rc3.1 release (plugin API 4):

  • Ten one-click Fractal themes, all six custom lighting families and 28 starting presets.
  • Palette, brightness, speed and Waves shape editing; native scene save/load.
  • Separate Meshify, Fade in, instant-color and Off startup controls.
  • Existing v0.2 profiles migrate automatically with original backups.

Effects execute on the hub. RGB only; no patched OpenRGB host or upstream merge request. Direct streaming is not included in this release.

Tested on firmware 1.1.17 with 11 accessories / 265 LEDs: 1,800 vendor-reference comparisons, transport/error checks, live theme/custom/profile uploads, GUI controls and exact startup readback. Original Campfire/startup/orientation restored. New animation appearance and power-cycle retention still need physical verification.

Experimental, AI-generated, GPL-2.0-or-later. Linux x86-64 binary built with Qt 5.15.19, GCC 16 and glibc 2.44; build from source on older distributions. See README and docs/validation.md for compatibility and evidence.

v0.2.0 — Normal OpenRGB release support (API 4)

Choose a tag to compare

@ThomasHFWright ThomasHFWright released this 11 Sep 15:34

Fractal Adjust Pro RGB plugin for the normal official OpenRGB 1.0rc3 Hotfix 1 (1.0rc3.1) release, plugin API 4.

No development build or custom OpenRGB build is required. Tested by importing this library into the official downloaded Linux x86-64 AppImage.

Download libFractalAdjustProPlugin.so, then use Settings → Plugins → Install Plugin in OpenRGB. This replaces the API 5 / development-only v0.1.0 plugin.

Verified on firmware 1.1.17: 11 accessories / 265 LEDs, independent Static colors, Off, brightness 0/25/75, Breathing speed, Color Cycle, Saved preview cancellation, native .orp profile save/load, GUI import and profile loading, disable/re-enable, USB handle release and restart. The tested RGB protocol and transport are unchanged.

The binary was built with Qt 5.15.19, GCC 16 and glibc 2.44. Build the plugin from source on distributions with older system libraries. Requires API 4 and Qt 5; API 5 development builds and OpenRGB 0.9/API 3 cannot load this version.

RGB only. No fan/telemetry, firmware, reset, ownership or startup-effect operations. Direct-mode streaming and power-cycle retention remain unsupported or unverified.

v0.1.0 — Experimental Adjust Pro RGB plugin (API 5)

Choose a tag to compare

@ThomasHFWright ThomasHFWright released this 11 Sep 13:09

Experimental, AI-generated RGB-only Fractal Adjust Pro plugin. Tested on Linux with firmware 1.1.17: 11 accessories / 265 LEDs.

Install libFractalAdjustProPlugin.so through Settings → Plugins → Install Plugin.

Requires unmodified official OpenRGB development revision 728846f66861dd1cb7dc04835f651830d6ef13ce, plugin API 5, and Qt 5. This binary was built on Linux x86-64 with Qt 5.15.19, GCC 16 and glibc 2.44. Build from source on older distributions. API 3/4 releases and arbitrary AppImages are not compatible targets.

Supports independent Static, Off, Breathing, Color Cycle, brightness/speed, Saved preview cancellation, and normal OpenRGB profiles. Import, disable/re-enable, restart and live USB readback were tested. No Direct-mode streaming, cooling control, startup changes, or firmware changes. Power-cycle retention remains untested.

See build/install instructions and validation plus upstream host limitations.
