This accomodates the CRAN request for no longer emitted warnings (under new-ish
autoconfas e.g. 2.71 in Debian unstable and testing; even Ubuntu 21.04 and the upcoming 21.10 are still at 2.69) about 'obsolete autoconf constructs' by updating theconfigure.acfile viaautoupdate; autoreconf --warnings=obsolete. A test usingR CMD checkusing both a newerautoconfand the explicit opt-in environment variable_R_CHECK_AUTOCONF_=trueshowed this to have been sufficient.
