Welcome to the Student Attendance Tracker Wiki! This project is a Raspberry Pi-based system for efficiently tracking student attendance using an OCR AI model. Built with OpenCV, Tesseract OCR, FastAPI, and a Vue frontend, it enables real-time logging and centralized data management for educational institutions.
The Student Attendance Tracker uses:
- PiCamera, OpenCV, Tesseract OCR to scan digital id cards and extract student id.
- A FastAPI backend to store attendance records.
- A Vue.js frontend for visualization and control.
- PostgreSQL database integration.
- Grafana/Prometheus stack for monitoring (planned).
- Full Kubernetes deployment in GKE with Terraform-managed infrastructure.
