@TimeLovercc TimeLovercc released this 19 Oct 04:05

Mojito now has a research workspace next to the planner: an idea inbox, Idea Lab and your research skills on the Projects page, plus pages that any Claude Code or Codex session can keep current.

What's new

  • Idea inbox: ideas, papers, authors and blogs you collect, in four tabs. Each item keeps its original text and source, why you saved it, the ideas it feeds and when it was last explored.
  • Idea Lab: each idea is a question with its sources, competing hypotheses, append-only evidence and a record of how your judgment changed. Start a bounded research round from the app (Explore, Develop, experiment, write, review or a full cycle) with an explicit time and turn budget, or a repeating plan with a fixed number of runs. The worker runs it on your computer as a claude -p process with only the tools you allowed; a cycle ends with an independent evidence review and never marks an unreviewed claim as supported.
  • Research sessions sync to Idea Lab: an ordinary Claude Code or Codex session can save a new question or an evidence update after each round with examples/skills/research-idea-funnel/scripts/idea_lab.py and a sync-only source:ideas token (retries are idempotent, earlier evidence can't be dropped).
  • Research skills: the four skills your sessions follow (Research Ideas, Research Experiments, Research Review, Paper Writing), shown read-only from the same files with their recent Git changes. Generic examples ship in examples/skills/.
  • Pages: self-contained HTML pages at fixed paths, every version kept, written with the pages command (sources/pages), shown in the web and Mac app with search.
  • Also: paste images into chat and notes on the web and Mac; review fixes.

Try it

  • Live demo (sample data, runs in your browser): https://zhimeng.page/mojito/ → Projects → Idea inbox / Idea Lab / Research skills, and Pages in the sidebar. In the demo, "Start research" only queues a placeholder round; real rounds need the worker.

Upgrading an existing instance (in this order)

  1. Hub: ssh "$MOJITO_SSH_HOST" 'sudo bash -s' < hub/deploy/gen-pages-key.sh (new required MOJITO_PAGES_KEY_FILE), re-run gen-tokens.sh (adds source:pages and source:ideas), then deploy. The deploy smoke check now also writes and deletes a _smoke/ page.
  2. Worker: add MOJITO_SKILLS_DIR (e.g. this repo's examples/skills) and MOJITO_RESEARCH_RULES (e.g. examples/research-rules.md or your global CLAUDE.md) to worker/.env, then restart it.
  3. Optional: hub/deploy/mac-env.sh source:pages MOJITO_PAGES_TOKEN "$MOJITO_SECRETS_DIR/pages.env" for the pages command, and ... source:ideas MOJITO_IDEA_LAB_TOKEN "$MOJITO_SECRETS_DIR/idea-lab.env" for research-session sync.
  4. Clients: rebuild the web app, the Mac app and the Android update.
Details: docs/SETUP.md (sections 6 and 11) and docs/api.md (研究技能, Idea Lab, 页面).

Limits

  • Research rounds run one at a time on the worker's computer: web reading, and CPU analysis only when you allow it. Nothing here starts GPU jobs, calls paid APIs or sends messages, and research text stays marked pending until you move it into your own documents (there is no Notion writer).
  • A few status lines the hub writes for runs (cancelled, lease expired) are Chinese only.

Experimental alpha: expect rough edges and breaking changes. Mojito is an independent project and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Meta.
