Walkthrough 0.4.1

Maintenance release for macOS Apple Silicon. The native plugin supplies authoring guidance; the separate installer prepares and activates the local CLI. No film, personal voice asset or recording is included.

Changes

  • Refresh the qualified stack: Node 24.22.1 or later on the 24 line, Playwright 1.64.1, Chrome for Testing 156.0.8078.4, Remotion 4.0.538 and React 19.3.1.
  • Pin transitive Zod to 4.6.6 to remove GHSA-mrhx-c7xc-m3w5 from the resolved dependency audit.
  • Cover native/custom viewport scrollbars and reserved gutters in capture calibration, preserving application layout, scroll and concurrent style changes. Clock tolerances are unchanged.
  • Contain an uncertain recorder start in its original interrupted session. Rejoin the original operation ID, then explicitly close that session; do not resend the start or remove a guessed overlay.
  • Retain content-free close-phase diagnostics and preserve failed public-launch test fixtures. An earlier close stall has no established cause; diagnostics are not presented as its causal repair.
  • Preserve strict renderer memory admission in the existing worker after upstream removed its prestitcher check. No fallback to an all-frame image spool is introduced.

Qualification and limits

The complete serial source gate passed 724 tests with no failures or skips, including real headed capture geometry and native print/PDF retention. Subsequent recorder-start containment was checked with deterministic failure/replay tests and a 33-test session/public-launch/framing/guidance selection. TypeScript checking passed. The final lockfile audit reported no known vulnerabilities; this is not supply-chain compromise detection.

Independent installation and explicit setup selection passed. From outside the checkout, the installed 0.4.1 CLI completed a headless loopback journey with real input, original-action replay without a second click, worker-identity inspection and verified browser closure. Setup inspection, all nine doctor checks and installer integrity checks passed. The native Codex and Claude installers select the exact 0.4.1 source revision, with enabled plugin receipts and byte-identical skill files. A fresh Codex skill-loader query discovers one enabled Walkthrough skill from that release. Already-open author sessions were not restarted; Claude reports that a restart is needed to apply its update. These checks are not a new author trial, Voices inference qualification or full-film viewing/listening. Foreground-application preservation was not independently observed in the headed tests.

Install or update

Download the macOS arm64 archive and matching SHA-256 file below, verify the checksum, extract it, then follow the included README. Installation explicitly acquires exact production dependencies and the product-owned browser. Authoring performs no dependency downloads.

After a CLI update, use setup prepare and setup apply to select the new toolchain deliberately; an older saved browser path otherwise still wins. Existing film projects, sealed sources, audio, profiles and shared prerequisites are preserved. The installer retains the displaced immutable release. Its recover command settles interrupted installation transactions; it is not a post-install rollback command. Changing CLI releases does not roll back user configuration.

Walkthrough's original code and skill are MIT. Remotion, browser, model and other dependency terms remain separate. No new production or media publication is authorized by this release.

Walkthrough 0.4.0

Introduce a real web product through a narrated local film, then revise the film
without repeating application work.

What's included

  • Native authoring guidance for Codex and Claude Code, with a separately installed
CLI. Plugin installation starts no browser, recording or inference.
  • Generic browser observation and real input for DOM, SVG and canvas products;
no site-specific adapter or selector package is required.
  • Sealed recordings and independent picture/narration tracks for offline changes
to framing, pacing, speech and captions. Compatible retained audio can be reused.
  • Explicit prerequisite setup and recoverable installation, session launches and
incomplete audio attempts. Projects and shared prerequisites survive uninstall.

The viewing result is a local MP4, accompanied by portable VTT and a review page
with playback, transcript and downloads. Film publication remains a separate
choice; Walkthrough includes no automatic publisher.

Requirements

The initial platform is macOS on Apple Silicon. The CLI requires Node 24.20.0 or
later on the 24 line with npm, FFmpeg/ffprobe, and a separate local Voices
installation with the qualified model revisions and a saved narrator.

The bootstrap contains owned code and a compiled process reader, not npm
dependencies, a browser, models or personal voice assets. Explicit CLI installation
acquires the locked production dependencies and browser. Film production performs
no dependency or model downloads; using the release needs no C toolchain.

installation guide.
