v0.7.10
Game manuals, news and the eShop work with Switch Frame Tap installed, and the viewer tells you why there is no picture.
- Manuals, news and the eShop (the console's browser) crashed with error 2210-1024 whenever Switch Frame Tap was installed (thanks SooraMaru and masagrator). The browser needs nearly all of the console's applet memory, and the sysmodule kept a few MB of it the whole time. It now lives in system memory like every other sysmodule (about 3 MB), and a small helper borrows the streaming memory only while a viewer is connected, giving it back 15 seconds after the viewer disconnects.
- While streaming: when a game opens its manual or news, the stream pauses first and comes back a few seconds after you close it. Known limit: opening a manual or the eShop from the HOME menu while streaming still crashes it - disconnect the viewer first.
- The viewer says why there is no picture: no game running, the HOME menu, a manual or the eShop open, streaming turned off, an excluded app, and so on, instead of the plain waiting screen.
- A screenshot taken while a manual or the eShop is open is skipped with a notification instead of crashing it.
- The manager's Setup check lists the new memory helper (
atmosphere/contents/0100000000000C21).
Updating: unzip switch-frame-tap-0.7.10-switch.zip over the SD card root and reboot (settings and screenshots are kept). The zip has two folders in atmosphere/contents: 0100000000000C20 (the sysmodule) and 0100000000000C21 (the memory helper, never started on its own). Update the viewer too to see the new messages (older viewers still work).
Firmware 23.0 / Atmosphère 1.12 is not supported yet (the sysmodule aborts at startup there); disable Switch Frame Tap on 23.0 until the next version.
