Test build 2 - everything from test1 (firmware 23.0 / Atmosphère 1.12, the macOS app, the Linux viewer for any distribution) plus:

  • HOME menu while streaming: pressing HOME now ends the stream and gives its memory back within about a second (thanks bshurikan, PR #13), and it only comes back when the game is on screen again - so a manual or the eShop opened from the HOME menu no longer crashes. If you prefer the old behaviour (the viewer keeps showing the paused game), set detach_on_home = 0 in config/switch-frame-tap/config.ini.
  • USB is released while streaming is off (overlay or manager app), so other USB apps can use the port; switching it on takes it again (thanks masagrator).
  • Recordings of games whose sound does not reach the viewer had an empty audio track that some players (MPC-HC) refused; the track is now always complete (thanks kingboxnt).
  • Viewer latency: the viewer decodes on one thread now, one frame (~16 ms at 60 fps) less delay; a slow PC switches itself back to two threads. V turns vsync off for even lower latency (may tear) - on by default (thanks Vichrov, #9).

Firmware 23.0: streaming there is still untested - set allow_untested_firmware = 1 in config/switch-frame-tap/config.ini to try it, and please send config/switch-frame-tap/log.txt.

Installing: unzip switch-frame-tap-0.7.11-test2-switch.zip over the SD card root and reboot (settings are kept), and update the viewer. To go back, unzip v0.7.10 the same way. The macOS app needs macOS 12 or newer; it is not signed by Apple, so the first time right-click it and choose Open.
