v0.7.2: stats overlay in the viewer, sound in games that block recording
A stats overlay in the viewer, and sound in games that block recording.
Stats overlay. Press O (or F3) in the viewer to step through four levels:
- FPS - a frame counter in the corner (it turns yellow or red when frames arrive unevenly).
- Graphs - frame rate, bitrate and latency, with a frame-time graph and a latency graph split into the Switch's part and the PC's.
- Full - everything the viewer measures (decode and draw times, skipped frames, lost packets, keyframes, the audio buffer...) with six graphs.
- Off.
The level is remembered, and the overlay scales with the window.
Sound in games that block recording (Super Smash Bros. Ultimate and others). The game's sound comes from the console's own recorder, which these games turn off. With dvr-patches (by exelix11, made for SysDVR) installed, the recorder runs for every game and the sound comes through. Download the zip for your firmware from their releases, unzip it onto the SD card root and restart. The overlay has a new Enable sound in no-record games switch to turn them off and on again (applies after a restart) - turn them off if a game crashes with them. Details in the README.
Updating: unzip switch-frame-tap-0.7.2-switch.zip over the SD card root and reboot (settings and screenshots are kept), and use the new viewer (Windows zip / Linux tarball; on Linux install-launcher.sh updates the desktop app).
