Inkhue prints a color photo as a plain-looking black-and-white page. Scan the page, and the color comes back.
The color is stored in the microscopic arrangement of the printer dots. To the eye it is an ordinary grayscale print; a scanner and Inkhue can read the color back out. Nothing is encrypted — the format is open and anyone can decode it.
