AFKManager 0.3.0
New in 0.3.0: manual AFK. A player can mark themselves AFK straight away by typing an emote in the chat window:
/rest
- It only ever affects the player who typed it, and repeating it does nothing.
- Any normal activity (moving, looking around, another emote, gear, a crafting station, a bed) makes them active again as usual.
- Sleep and raid handling use the manual AFK state immediately.
- Sleeping in a bed can never trigger it: Valheim does not allow emotes while attached to a bed or chair.
- The emote is configurable (
[Manual AFK] ManualAfkEmote); an empty value disables the feature.
There is no /afk command, because a vanilla client silently discards slash commands it does not know and does not send ordinary chat to a dedicated server at all. An emote is character state that every client already syncs, so it works from a vanilla client on any platform without installing anything. The README explains this in more detail.
Also in this release: AFKManager was tested on a crossplay (-crossplay / PlayFab) dedicated server — detection, manual AFK, chat announcements and notifications all work there. PC Game Pass / Microsoft Store and console players never install anything, but their server must be started with -crossplay.
No new Harmony patches, and no change to the existing detection, announcement, sleep or raid behaviour.
Install: on the server only. Use the Thunderstore package, or extract AFKManager-0.3.0.zip and copy plugins/AFKManager/AFKManager.dll to BepInEx/plugins/AFKManager/. Requires BepInExPack Valheim.
Tested with Valheim 1.0.15 and BepInExPack Valheim 5.4.2350.
