UnityScraper 1.2.0-beta.1
Pre-releaseUnityScraper 1.2.0-beta.1
This beta turns UnityScraper into a broader Xbox 360 collection, knowledge, preservation, profile, and tooling workspace while retaining conservative safety boundaries around user data and console storage.
Highlights
- Visual Studio 2010-inspired charcoal and blue desktop theme with compact tool chrome, classic menus, dense tables, and shared styling across modern and legacy tools
- Unified Xbox 360 knowledge browsing with ConsoleMods, XenonLibrary, Free60, Redump, and No-Intro adapter foundations, provenance, citations, caching, and conflict review
- Offline XboxUnity title catalog with TitleID and game-name autocomplete while keeping XboxUnity transport explicitly HTTP-only
- Portable
.usmetametadata snapshots, library attention audits, preservation reports, community correction exports, and local hardware inventory - Read-only consecutive STFS extraction with traversal protection, bounded output, atomic writes, SHA-256 verification, and extraction manifests
- Profiles, saves, GPD achievements, played-title history, comparison, verified snapshots, conflict-safe restore, and Xenia save migration previews
- Xenia and Xenia Canary discovery plus direct game launching without shell interpolation
- XeXTool integration, external command-line tool workspace, command previews, cancellation, captured output, and xorloser attribution
- Persistent resumable console synchronization, collection scanning, XEX identity parsing, exact MediaID update matching, and read-only Aurora/FATX inspection
- Scoped and rate-limited local REST API, CLI parity, recovery reporting, community language packs, and checksum-approved metadata plugins running in bounded child processes
- Windows, Linux x86_64, and unsigned Apple Silicon macOS packaging paths
Upgrade notes
The database schema advances to migration 10. The migration is additive and preserves existing library, download, knowledge, profile, save, and transfer data. No database reset is required.
New records cover metadata snapshot runs, library intelligence, preservation reports, correction packages, hardware inventory, and package extraction history.
Before upgrading, keeping a normal backup of your UnityScraper data directory is still recommended for any beta release.
Safety and privacy
- Metadata snapshots exclude profiles, saves, personal paths, credentials, and game content.
- STFS extraction only handles files whose consecutive allocation can be verified. Fragmented files are reported and skipped.
- Package/profile resigning, raw FATX mutation, and automatic destructive repairs remain disabled.
- Plugins run in a separate bounded process, but this is not represented as an operating-system permission sandbox.
- UnityScraper does not distribute commercial game images, firmware, encryption keys, or restricted SDK material.
Platform notes
- Windows is the primary desktop target and includes the full packaged experience.
- Linux uses XDG-native storage and includes a user-level installer and desktop integration.
- macOS provides an unsigned Apple Silicon preview build. Gatekeeper approval may be required.
- Verified Windows, Linux, and macOS release builds and their SHA-256 checksum files are attached below.
Validation
- 108 primary tests and 31 integration tests
- Python 3.10 and 3.12 on Windows, Linux, and macOS
- Windows executable, Linux bundle, and macOS application builds
- Windows visual review and packaged isolated-plugin execution
