Directory status (2026-10-22): the old entry is archived, but the directory still reserves its display name. The new repository submission was rejected with “An entry with this name already exists,” so no new listing has been created. Official assistance is required to resolve the name reservation.
Banana Reader 0.13.3 is now published from TreyDong/banana-reader-plugin. The plugin ID and installation folder are banana-reader.
Read and annotate Markdown, PDF and EPUB, ask about selected passages, and export notes with source links. The interface supports English and Simplified Chinese on desktop Obsidian 1.11.4+.
Moving from gloss-reader
Back up the old plugin folder and disable gloss-reader before enabling banana-reader. Do not uninstall the old plugin first. The guarded migration copies settings, highlights, annotations, conversations and recognized indexes without overwriting either copy. It preserves the originals and a migration receipt; conflicts stop the import. Reassign custom shortcuts to the new plugin commands. Saved secret-reference names remain unchanged; session-only keys need to be entered again. Old exported-note links remain supported, while new links use obsidian://banana-reader.
Install the three matching assets in .obsidian/plugins/banana-reader/ (substitute your actual vault configuration directory if customized). This is a replacement installation, not an automatic in-place plugin-ID update. The old directory entry is archived, and the former repository retains historical releases; no parallel legacy version will be maintained.
Validation and directory status
141 regression tests, official source-rule lint with no errors, TypeScript checks and the bundle build pass. The runtime assets are identical to the verified 0.13.3 package from the previous repository. Only publication links and documentation changed. The old-entry preview rejected the changed ID; the maintainer approved a new-entry review. GitHub publication does not imply directory approval. Native personal-vault migration has not been performed. Unrelated 0.14.0 work is excluded.
