StockfishEmbedded 1.14.0
Refresh the embedded Stockfish source to effdc3fd, fourteen commits beyond the previous snapshot. This includes legal-only move generation, mate-finding/search improvements, and NNUE optimizations.
Required network update
This version uses SFNNv18 and requires nn-c9e480e92425.nnue. The previous network layout is incompatible. Run Scripts/download-nnue.sh in the updated checkout, and replace the network bundled with or managed by your app. SwiftPM builds remain network-free; runtime callers still supply a local network URL.
- Expand external-network lifecycle, readiness, ownership, terminal-position, and soak coverage, including Thread Sanitizer validation.
- Align README/DocC organization with ArasanEmbedded and add focused maintainer and troubleshooting guides.
- Keep the public wrapper API and embedded initialization behavior unchanged.
Validated locally with Xcode 27.1: Debug/Release package tests, Thread Sanitizer, network-free SPI schemes, CLI smoke/soak tests, macOS XCTest, and iOS builds. The coordinated SwiftChessDemo candidate also passed 94 unit/integration tests and 36 UI tests; the owner reported successful iPhone and iPad testing.
Source-only release; no prebuilt binaries or NNUE download are attached. StockfishEmbedded remains GPL-3.0. See CHANGELOG.md for details.
