Scroll down to Assets and pick one:

Your computer Download this
Windows (recommended) Cartridge-1.51.0-Setup.msi
Windows, no install Cartridge-1.51.0-Portable.exe
Mac with M1/M2/M3/M4 Cartridge-1.51.0-arm64.dmg
Mac with Intel Cartridge-1.51.0-x64.dmg

Not sure which Mac you have? Apple menu → About This Mac: "Chip: Apple M…" means arm64.

First time opening it

  • Windows: if you see "Windows protected your PC", click More info → Run anyway. Cartridge isn't code-signed yet; the full source is right here.
  • Mac: open the .dmg and drag Cartridge to Applications. The first time, macOS says it can't verify the developer: go to System Settings → Privacy & Security and click Open Anyway. Only once.

New in this version

  • Cartridge Frost is the new default look, with 8 color themes and custom colors in Settings → Colors
  • A soft color glow behind the selected game instead of the blurred cover (changeable in Settings → Colors)
  • Find more lists hundreds of ports, including Switch, Wii U and PS4, and each card says whether it has a Windows or Mac download, or if you build it yourself
  • Help tab with plain-language guides, and Check my setup to find and fix problems
  • ★ Favorites, a Recently played row, NEW badges, and release notes before every update
  • ROM scans no longer fill up your C: drive, and the small Mac icons are fixed

Important

Cartridge doesn't include, download or share any games, ROMs, BIOS files or keys. Use files from games you own.

☕ Enjoying Cartridge? Support it on Ko-fi

Cartridge is made by one retro gamer with 40+ years of playing behind him, in spare evenings, and it will always be free. Nothing is locked, there are no ads, and nothing is tracked.

If it saved you some time setting up these ports, or brought back a favorite from your childhood, a coffee helps keep it going: new features, more consoles, Linux and Steam Deck support, and fixes when something breaks.

Not able to chip in? Sharing Cartridge with a friend or starring this repository ⭐ helps just as much. Thank you!
