Install this update from the VSIX below.

  1. Download tableau-language-support.vsix from the assets below.
  2. In VS Code, press Ctrl+Shift+P and run Extensions: Install from VSIX….
  3. Select the downloaded file and reload if prompted.
  4. Confirm Tableau Language Support by TrueCrimeAudit shows version 1.14.1.

No repository clone, npm, or build tools are required. VS Code 1.95 or newer is required.

Changes

  • Corrects the missing-model message so @tableau points to the selected provider's setup instead of incorrectly requiring a Copilot subscription.
  • Adds 11 regression cases for chat commands, history, project guidance, workbook selection, and save-only exports.
  • Includes the concise README and updated GUI walkthrough, plus instructions for testing without Tableau.

Workbook inspection, XML edits, backups, and exports work without an AI account. For @tableau, configure an accessible model in VS Code; this installer contains no AI credentials. The update does not resolve model-provider authentication or billing failures. Verify the exported workbook's rendering, calculations, and connections in Tableau.

Verification

The attached VSIX is the unchanged artifact from the 1.14.1 verification run. release.json records its SHA256, source commit, extension identity, and installed-package test result.
