Makimono v0.19.20
Smart auto-scroll, plus filter your library by AniList tags.
Added
- Smart auto-scroll for the webtoon reader: auto-scroll now speeds up through empty gaps between panels and eases back to your set speed over art and text, so reading pace stays steady while dead space passes quickly. Turn it on under Reader settings for the Webtoon viewer and pick a strength (Subtle, Normal, Aggressive); it's off by default.
- Filter your library by AniList genres and tags. Run "Update library tags" in Advanced settings to fetch them, then pick tags in the library filter sheet (include or exclude, match all or any), or tap a tag on a title's details to filter by it. An optional toggle keeps new titles tagged after each library update, and For-You can build its taste from these local tags.
Improved
- Discover and For-You open faster. For-You now shows its feed right away instead of waiting on recommendations to finish loading (they fold in when ready), the Discover tag picker responds instantly to taps, and the AniList tag list is cached instead of re-downloaded each time.
- The library tag update runs gently in the background while you're using the app (so it doesn't slow Discover/For-You) and can be cancelled from its notification.
Makimono v0.19.19
Recommendations go multi-source.
Improved
- "Similar titles" is now multi-source: it blends recommendations from AniList, MyAnimeList, MangaUpdates, MangaDex, and Comick into one list and floats up the titles several sources agree on — with English titles, proper filtering, and a "load more" that widens the net as you scroll for deeper, less-obvious picks. Turn individual sources on or off from the Similar titles filter.
- For You now also draws on these cross-source recommendations for the titles you read and rate highest, so the feed reaches beyond your usual genres.
Makimono v0.19.18
Added
- Reader comments: see what readers are saying about a title, pulled from WEBTOON, Comick, and MangaDex. A "Reader comments" button on the manga page opens the discussion with a tab for each source that has comments, and a chapter picker to jump to any chapter. Comments are read-only; turn whole sources on or off in Settings → Reader → Comments.
- Notifications now follow your app icon: the notification accent color matches whichever launcher icon you've picked, and there's a new neutral Gray icon variant to choose from.
Changed
- The default app icon is now Slate.
Makimono v0.19.17
Meet For You: personalized manga recommendations drawn from your AniList-tracked library.
Added
- For You (in Browse): a personalized recommendation feed built from your AniList-tracked library — it surfaces popular, top-rated, and trending titles that match your taste and hides anything you already have. The feed rotates to a fresh selection each week, with a countdown to the next reset and a Refresh for new picks anytime. Long-press any result for a preview, tap to search it across your sources.
Makimono v0.19.16
Find your next read: browse and filter manga by AniList tags.
Added
- Discover (in Browse): opens on Trending, then refine by including or excluding AniList genres and tags. Long-press any result for a quick preview, and tap to search for it across your sources.
Makimono v0.19.15
Personalize your launcher icon, with a cleaner launch screen to match.
Added
- Choose your app icon: pick from six crest color variants (teal, terracotta, indigo, plum, crimson, slate) in Appearance settings.
Changed
- The splash screen is now a neutral dark, so it no longer clashes with whichever app icon color you pick.
Makimono v0.19.14
Changed
- The app icon and splash screen are now teal, for a cleaner and more consistent look.
Removed
- The extra one-time "What's new" screen that appeared on first launch after an update. Update notes still show in the updater when a new version is available, so nothing is lost.
Makimono v0.19.13
Added
- A one-time "What's new" screen now appears the first time you open the app after an update, summarizing what changed in that version.
Changed
- Finished the Makimono rebrand: the launch/splash screen and the in-app logo now use the Makimono crest, and About links to the Makimono project.
Removed
- The "Support Us" screen and the one-time donation prompt — this fork doesn't ask for donations.
Makimono v0.19.12
Fixed
- In-app updater no longer fails to detect updates when a release is published without notes.
Changed
- Release notes now appear as an in-app "What's new" screen when you update.
