Peel 1.2.0
Immutable
release. Only release title and notes can be modified.
Peel 1.2.0 removes apps more carefully and checks for updates more accurately.
Requires macOS Tahoe 26 or later.
Highlights
- VPNs and security tools such as ExpressVPN, Cloudflare WARP, Zscaler, and Sophos are left to their makers' own uninstallers, and Peel shows you the maker's step.
- More of your data is held back: torrent lists, 1Password vaults, LibreOffice profiles, and iTerm2 scripts are shown but never selected for you, and macOS's own folders are never taken for an app's.
- Update checks you can trust: iPhone and iPad apps, and apps sold with their iPhone version, are checked against their own App Store listing, and what Homebrew says counts only for a day after it last checked.
- Your shell after a removal: Peel names the lines in your shell's startup files that still point to what moved, and changes none of them.
- Steadier: with many pages selected, the Move to Trash question keeps its buttons on screen, and right after Peel updates itself, its helper is ready at once.
- Many smaller fixes across Peel.
Thanks to @0xgruber for reporting the missing App Store updates (#1), and to @JayrGilGalicia for the Move to Trash question that ran off the screen (#2).
