Release list
v1.0.6
TurboRivals v1.0.6
Everything since 1.0.0. The host and every player should update, because both the launcher and the server changed.
Highlights
- Your career progress now sticks. Paint jobs, cars and unlocks survive a game restart, for the host and for players who join. The game writes progress to one save file but loads another, and the server now logs every player in under the save their game actually loads. The launcher finds it on each PC and shows it under YOUR CAREER SAVE.
- Name yourself. Players type their own name in JOIN A SESSION. It starts out as your EA nickname. The host no longer has to list everyone by IP address. The name stays with your EA account, so it survives a server restart and a switch between LAN and VPN.
- Profile pictures. Click the square next to YOUR NAME and pick any photo. It shows up in the game as your profile picture and in the launcher.
- ONLINE NOW. Host and guests see who is currently logged in, with names and pictures.
Fixes
- Joining another PC failed silently. An old
gosredirector.ea.comline inhosts, for example one added by hand from the previous instructions, sent your game back to your own PC. The host's log stayed empty and the game said it could not connect. The launcher now removes such lines, flags them on the HOSTS row, and checks where the game will really connect before starting it. The uninstaller removes them too. - Clearer connection errors. When the host cannot be reached, the launcher tells you whether the PCs cannot see each other at all (VPN, network, firewall) or the host simply isn't running the server.
- Names with special characters could crash the server's log output. Names are now plain ASCII, with accents folded (Ł → L, é → e), up to 32 characters.
Known limitations
- If YOUR CAREER SAVE is orange ("Guessed"), progress may not stick. This happens when Rivals has never been played on that PC, or when several EA accounts played it there. Fix: start Rivals once normally through the EA App, without TurboRivals, play until it saves, close it, then connect.
- Other players' pictures in a shared session are served the same way as your own, but that case has not been confirmed in a live session yet.
- Internet play still needs a VPN (Radmin VPN, Hamachi). Port forwarding is not supported yet.
How to update
- Close the game and TurboRivals.
- Run
TurboRivalsSetup-1.0.6.exe. It installs over the old version, and your settings stay. - Set your name and picture next to YOUR NAME.
- Joining players: check that YOUR CAREER SAVE is not orange before clicking REDIRECT AND PLAY.
Turborivals 1.0.0 - Alldrive is back
Need for Speed Rivals lost its online services on 7 October 2025, and AllDrive —
the shared open world — went with them. This is a replacement server, plus a
launcher that sets it up for you.
Every player needs their own legally purchased copy. This release ships no game
files and circumvents no copy protection.
What works
- Login, session setup, client configuration and QoS
- Public games and matchmaking (find-or-create)
- A shared AllDrive session for two players, over a LAN or over a VPN
- Progress saved from the game's own reports, and speed walls served back from it
- Host migration — implemented, but see the caveats below
Longest verified session: two players, 14 minutes, nobody dropped.
The launcher
One window that does the parts people got wrong by hand: the hosts entry, the
firewall rules, the player names, and a live view of the server log. It detects
your network adapters and shows which address to hand to the other players.
Requirements
- Need for Speed Rivals, and the EA App running and signed in — the game is
launched through it, not through Steam - Windows 10 or 11 with the Edge WebView2 Runtime (built into Windows 11)
- Radmin VPN or Hamachi only if you play over the internet; a shared LAN needs none
Install
Run TurboRivalsSetup-1.0.0.exe. It installs per user, needs no administrator
rights, and puts an entry in the Start menu. Uninstalling takes the hosts
redirect down for you.
Install it — do not unzip the program folder and run it from there. Files
extracted from a downloaded archive carry Mark-of-the-Web, and .NET then refuses
to load a library the launcher needs.
Playing
One player hosts: pick your network adapter in the launcher, add the other
players' names and addresses, start the server. Everyone else picks
Join a session, enters the host's address, and the launcher handles the rest.
In game, the first player to choose "Search for session" becomes the host;
everyone else joins the same way.
Two warnings that are not bugs
- "Windows protected your PC". The build is not code-signed, so Windows has
no reputation for it. Choose More info → Run anyway. - A player connects and is dropped immediately. Their EA App is not running
or not signed in, so the game never receives an Origin token. The launcher's
EA APProw shows this before you start.
Rough edges
- Sessions with three or more players have never been tested. Two is what
has been verified. - Host migration has not been confirmed in a recent session. The protocol
side is implemented and was developed against live tests; treat a host leaving
mid-session as untested rather than working. - Internet play needs a VPN. The game connects players directly and EA's
relay is gone. - A few RPCs are still answered with an empty acknowledgement.

Something broken?
Open an issue — the form asks for the launcher version, which side hit the
problem, the pre-flight panel and the server log. Please read the two warnings
above first.
